Do you even know the meaning of the word freedom?

How can anyone be 'free' with a fucking bunch of killers in uniform stopping us from doing anything other than what the powers that be decide we are allowed to do.

We ARENT free. We are slaves.

    Yes ... bunch of KILLERS.

When the people appointed to protect us keep KILLING us, then its time for someone to hit the reset switch and start again.

Its a shame we are conditioned to be so apathetical to the murder of our own brothers and sisters these days, to the point of actually trying to justify it to the point where someone is 'asking' to be killed. For fucks sake people used to be 'asking' for a punch or a slap ... now they are 'asking' to be fucking ELIMINATED from the face of this planet.

    For shame.

The phrase "pig" makes it feel like you've stepped back about 20 years. I think it's about time you all grew up. Of course the police man was in the wrong but it does seem like it was an accident and I'm sure he will be punished fairly. If anything, all of the animals down there should be getting the blame. I'm all for protesting for what you believe in but they took it too far which resulted in innocent people being injured/killed.

how can the assault possibly be an accident? they knew they were in the wrong that's why they tried to cover it up. I'm sure he will NOT be punished fairly nor any of those others who were not caught on camera who will get away with it. Ian Tomlinson was not an animal and nor were the vast majority of legitimate protesters many of whom were assaulted by the police.
Pigs is an ancient term and police are just people. Give anyone power over other people and there will be abuses. The police now have too much and things like this will continue to happen and most of them will never even make the papers.

By punished fairly, do you mean sent down for manslaughter? Assaulting someone who later dies would probably mean that for the majority of people. If it had been a protestor assualting a policeman with the same end result all hell would have broken loose.

And what exactly is taking it too far? by all accounts, the major bit of damage caused was to RBS, worse things happen around football grounds up and down the country- There's a lot of footage kicking about from G20 which shows the police acting with a LOT more than what could be considered 'reasonable force'

    Agreed with forks.

    42 days detention without charge?
Stop and search anyone for any reason?
    The criminal justice act?
On the spot fines for dropping a tab on the ground?
Standing at tube turnstiles in London getting ravers to turn their pockets out to catch them with a few pills?
Preventing people from assembling in groups to complain about the way their country is ran?

    ... Sorry. Too far.

    Good video proudy.

Makes you wonder why the CCTV cameras were turned off in London that day eh.

Mobile phones that shoot video are THE guerilla warfare devices of the people in this day and age it seems ... considering the amount of times they are being used to counter the 'official' stories we get to hear.

Please don't condescend us. The police were receiving orders from Scotland Yard to launch sudden unprovoked attacks on innocent people. The whole concept of the police "kettle" was inherently wrong. None of the police have stood up and said "hang on a second, we're hitting people with batons and it's fucking wrong". This isn't the only case, it's been going on for years.

I don't particularly care about one policeman getting his "just deserts" or whatever people will be saying. I want the police force to simmer down and start to obey the rules that they were meant to be so righteously enforcing in the first place. People have been badly injured by thugs in silly hats at raves and protests for years now, for dancing or voicing an opinion (which is our fucking god given right, and anyone who says otherwise is wrong).

Our government are all conservatives. They have something to conserve. These people who go to protests are not just "smelly hippies causing bother", they are the other side of the none existent democracy that the government don't want to have a voice. They are a threat, so the police thought they'd keep them in line. Somebody died and now the government/police have backed up, they're probably shitting themselves because of the problems police brutality caused in Greece last December.

Also, anyone saying that people opposing the actions of the police are just falling for media hype, are falling for the hype about media hype. It took ages for the BBC to make this their main story and a lot of the reports I heard in the early days were leaning towards the police not being at fault, which is now clearly not the case and has been proven by the eye witness statements being corroborated by the emerging footage. and how long did it take for the police officer who did it to come foward?

Another thing, anyone is saying "open your eyes, blah blah blah, it was an accident, open your own fucking eyes and look at the bigger picture.

    Now I feel better :)
