I kind of agree with Rozz but I think Mark already commented the trance classics night wouldn't be just a classics night it may well follow themes - I think this is a good way to do although I think bi monthly would be better than monthly... I think the likes of lee foster may be introduced in the debut slots (hopefully supporting up and coming big names like say Yoji or Astrid.

I agree with you on doing summit different too, promise were an inovative prog club, they started to book unique line ups... developed their own sound (prog to trance to hard trance)... but to start following clubs that are losing money/been around forever isn't the way to get back on top... I think this is where the debut night comes into play - this gives promise the chance to import fresh and unique dj's (good greef and sundis are extremely good at finding fresh talent).

I don't think mark n rich are far off from cracking the formula - but I do think 2 resident nights a month and a debut slot which may just be a local dj isn't enough to get promise back to its former glory.

saying that this week and the 20th's line up's are amazing and should hopefully see the club rammed and oozing atmosphere :D

p.s. agree whole heartedly on the jfk, corvin tip.

I also think mauro 3 times in just over a year is a bit much to (once a year is fine)...

    I think dj's like:

    Regulars

    Mat Hardwick
    John kelly
    Guy Ornadel
    Eddie Halliwell
    Rob Tissera
    00 flemming
    Scott Bond

    Guests

    Judge Jules
    Scot Project
    Fergie (not my cuppa)
    Airwave
    Signum
    Dumonde
    Yoji Biomehanika

    Up and Comings

    Ali Wilson
    DJ Astrid
    DJ Isaac
    Alex Kidd
    Shan

    One Offs

    PVD
    Mauro Picotto
    Kai Tracid
    Armin Van Buuren
    Tiesto

Would go down extremely well a lot aren't to my taste but they'd certainly suit promise and in theory should pull a crowd.

I do know its easy for me to sit here and tell you who I think you should book, but I've never ran a club - I know this, just letting you know which dj's I think could help promise :D

I also know a lot of them are booked :D

    good suggestions joe...!!! :)

booking producers like airwave, MIKE, demonde, H+J, katana, scot project, Rank1, SolarStone etc is a top idea for a club i think.
ppl on other boards (GC especially) are always talkin about producers nights and the like.

a producers night would be mint...that 1 @ crasher last year was awesome.

Producers always pull crowds unfortunatgly half them can't mix for shit - a little research si always good...

its easy to pull a crowd - the hard bit is making them want to come again... but agree whole heartedly on some producers :D :D :D

I know I'm being a bit fo a pesimists - I reckon the 6th and 20th wil be amazing promise nights to remember... as will yoji and some of the other nights early next year.

    Swings and roundabouts innit :D

the only producers that i have heard whos mixing has been below par have been demonde.....all the others are pretty good i think....better than some Big name DJ's i have seen recently!(no names mentioned!)

its all about tune selection anyway :p as long as u can match the beat, no1 will notice :p :)

Producers do attract the masses, I like to see talent too though, DJ's which are technically better off create a much better sound in a club, I think they can structure their sets better too, which helps.

I think putting Les Hemstock on with Lee foster would be a good night.

Mark, is Phil Reynolds still an option? I mean if ur booking Yoji, Rob Tissera, etc. then Phil Reynolds playing a hard trance set would be quality...

If for whatever reasons Promise can not increase its revenue then it has to reduce its costs.
That is why classics & resident nights are going to happen.

    10-12 Gav Green

Although flemming would bring in a crowd and aint sure how well the night would go down as not alot of people listen goa/psy.

And if there is going to be goa/psy night i think it would be better to get someone like Infected mushroom, Astral Project or Yahel to play.

They kinda play at bit of both. Personally i would love to hear all the "weird noise's", as you put it.

Hallucinogen are wicked (only heard sets i have downloaded but there tres good).

Mark - What do ya reckon to have a goa/psy night as a one off?
