But although Kluivert was GASH, Bellas was a quailty player and did produce the goods! If Figo fails to produce the goods and just treats a yr in the toon as a nice pay packet would you not be pissed off??

btw i am not havin a go at n/castle any way shape or form as Figo was one of the best players in the world and i'd love to see him in the prem! Just seems like a big BIG gamble too me :)

When will they ever learn, but i suppose if you are going to pay players like Scott Parker £55k a week you are setting a rod for your own back.. Does Shearer not have a clause in his contract stating he has to be top wage earner ??? if so he will now go onto £95k a weeks aswell

You really do know FUCK ALL about football do you   plus your patter absolutley stinks!!! "scott parkers better blah blah blah blah blah......" I don't give a fuck mate! All we're saying is that it could be a massive gamble paying a player who is 30+ over 90k a week. If you read my posts i'm actually hoping he does come to the premier. Would love to see him play!!

Anyway i'm no longer arguing with a "Plastic Geordie"

95k a week is good seeing as he hasnt cost them a penny and is only tied for ONE SEASON. Do the maths

Plus there is no transfer fee

95k per week equates to £4,940,000

Figo is easily worth £5m in todays transfer market

5million over a year is probably a bit too much, if we cud get it down to 4million i'd have him. scott parker, figo - hopefully, emre (looks like were gona get him) if we get those 3 thats a class start to the summer imo

i heard benni mccarthey was a loada shit, porto denyin it, would be good to see though. would rather have govou but looks like nouts happenin with him anymore

he is taking a pay cut to come to us he wa son more than that at Barca, I dont care how much we pay him, its just great to see oen of the worlds greatest footballs at st james park, my season ticket wont go up cos he signs as i have already paid :D :D

Any Prem team would kill to have figo in the squad and as no fee I think %million is chep for a player that cost nearly 40 million

he'll struggle for pace i think. The pre is a lot faster than the spanish leagues.

It has been reported that Newcastle will back away from the chase for Luis Figo unless he halves his wage demands.

I heard the same kind of comments coming out of Newcastle fans last season when you signed Patrick Kluivert and look how that turned out, you have to ask yourself if he was still "one of the worlds top footballers" why the biggest sides in world football have not come in for him.

It was a risk and it did not pay of, Figo is also a risk, Kliuvert did get us to a semi fianl with goals against Chelsea and spurs so prob made his wages back with the money we made from the Semi final

Newcastle will of paid out over £3 million in wages to Kluivert during his spell on tyneside, you get nowhere near £3 million for getting to an F.A Cup semi final like.
