Well one theory is that Dharma knew about it and therefore took preventative measures.

No one on the plane knows...well I assume thats for a reason! It does fit well but there were theroies of 'the others' being a collective conscience but now we know that this may not be the case.

The thing is now that we are getting to know more about the others its taking away the mysteriousness of the whole idea....before we thought of them as neanderthol types who just went around in packs, hunting and killing people with absolutley no trace.

But now we have seen that this isn't necessarily the case.

However - regardless of who the others are...what about the "smoke monster" with the faces of the dead people in???

One explaination for the deaths/kidnappings could be to make sure that the plan (whatever it may be) suceeds - it will impose fear on the other survivors and therefore the others can manipulate them into doing exactly what Dharma intended. So the kidnappings & killings could well be collateral damage.

i hope we find out just whats behind the thick concrete and causing the magnetic fields...

From what i've seen I've come to the conclsuion that the hatch could actually be a station which houses a weapon.. hence when the countdown reached zero u could hear mechanical/hydraulic noises which sound like somethin was being prepared.

The numbers were replaced by the phrase "cause of death" which would also marry with the idea of a weapon station.

Perhaps the magnetism is used to actual propel a weapon into orbit, hence the noise was the magnets creating a form of reverse polarity which would cause a reactive force thus launching a missle or something.

Just my 2 cents.. tbh it probably a load of shite but its something to bear in mind.

However it wouldn't explain the scientists or the black smoke.. or the polar bears..

I think that towards the end of this series we will meet that asian dude off the film reel..

We have seen dharma 4 dharma logo's so far, the swan is where the electro-magnetism experiments are taking place.

Orions belt which is seen on the sharks tail and on ethans water bottle, this is some sort of zoology experiment mentioned in the video.

The arrow, located in the bunker the tail section people are in.

Last is the caduceus, greek symbol that appears on the medical supplies
