Fenham has the Brighton Halal - award winning curry-house, and easily the best in toon.

Heaton is soon to have that huge new shopping arena with fitness park.

I like heaton but it could do with a face lift.

Fenham doesn't need one - you can easily stroll into toon.

Saying that, they're building a shopping complex on the General site.

I wish I lived there for those reasons, i know alot more people on chilly road alone than I see in cramlington regularly and you've got a choice of ways to get into town without having to worry about parking, as well as access to the coast road.

Fenham is on the ropes and Heaton is looking for the KO punch!

I had the choice of 6 bus services to get into town, or a 10 minute walk. Plenty of car parking. Probs about the same crime rate as Heaton.

Reason I'd prefer Fenham over Heaton is Fenham has the best parties, by a long mile...

I don't know anyone in fenham and never have been to anyones house there before. Except another dude called Nasser, but that was a shop so I can't really comment on the party life.

im from the west end of newc originally, and lived there for 18 years, but i live in heaton now, and would much much rather live over this sode of the city then fenham side!!!

Heaton kicks arse, all the cool people live here, and a few un-cool ones too, but we cant be picky about the people who live here. You've got everything you need right on your door step

I have always thought Fenham was rougher than Heaton.

it is!! i used to knock about round there when i was a bit younger, i know what kinda stuff goes on in fenham, plus its full of imigrants as well, i wouldnt feel safe walking down the west rd atnight, but id happily walk down chilly rd!

Fenham's no rougher than Heaton at all. If you go near Benwell or Elswick, fair enough - but the same goes for going near Byker Wall or Walker.

Obviously though, in Fenham the "darkies" are all out to get you...

I've lived in Fenham 2 years, moved from fuckin Jesmond which I hated (full of cocks)

I've had the best 2 years of my life in Fenham (how daft does that sound?) I've met loads of houses full of people who are always up for (after)parties and all my mates who live with me lived in Heaton last year. They were well unwilling to move to Fenham cos of the reputation, but convinced them and they've never looked back either. Loada nice curry houses (and i really like curry), cheap supermarket, 20 min walk to town, never seen any trouble aside from kids fuckin about, decent big-ass houses which are cheap as fuck (for now, its on the up you know!).

Heatons good as well though, just more expensive and less parties goin on, and ya know it!

I have never once encountered one single comment or action from an 'immigrant' in all the 2 years ive lived there.

The only people who look like they'll ever be even the slightest bit of trouble are the chavs, who all funnily enough are white.

But they're all about 12!
