I only ever go out these days if theres a club night involved, or im going to a good restaurant or something.

Its all just far too expensive these days - and a regular 'civillian' night out just feels soul-less to me. The nights ive been out to places like mood, tiger tiger or those kind of places just feel .... well ..... pointless. All that money on booze, taxi's, cigarettes, food and drink and its just the same kind of people all around you - drunken, tarted up beer boys and either jailbait girls or 35+ tarted up slappers, and blokes in untucked ben sherman shirts.

I guess once you've had a taste of more non mainstream nightclubs/nights like promise, turnmills, habit, waxon etc etc, you get more in tuned with what you want from a night out. Anything else just feels like going through the motions.

Going back to what other people have said - i'd rather do something at home than make some guy rich having an average night out.

yeah i agree...different nights for different mates. Most of my mates arn't into proper dance clubs. None of who tie in with any of the afore-mentioned stereotypes!

i think someone has a few million in there back pocket mind.

    1. Its always going to be ikon.

    2. Nice decor, its going to get wrecked, gonna cost £

    3. There going to HAVE to let the shit back in to pay for costs.

The amount of shite that walked past my place over the weekend heading to 'IKON' they didint call it liquid by the way, was unreal and i seriously doubt they are going to knock every single one of them back.

don't you mean someone used to have a few million in their back pocket?

can't see it working myself like, though a lot depends on how their mid week student nights go as Lovedough basically kept the place running for the last few years until it moved to digital as the friday nights were only doing 4-500 & 6-800 on saturdays (not I didn't go, just sneaked a peak at their numbers when I was in for a meeting a couple of years back).

It's basically been fucked since everyone moved down to the quayside as once you're down there it'll take a lot to persuade you to face that hill to get up to ikon when there's Sea, the boat, baha etc. right next to you. + the late licences etc.

What i love about London is that there are so many little pubs/bars that play good music and are open late so you dont have to go clubbing if you fancy a late night

    Newcastle lacks places like that
