    Lee,

    I usually get sent the CDR, to give an opinion, about 2-3 months before the TP's. Once the TP's arrive I write the review. The whites and finally the finished copies arrive last.

    CDR's and TP's...

    A CDR is simply a CD Recordable; you get this pretty much as soon as the artist has mixed down the final version of the track. This is sent to the press opinion makers for initial feedback. If 15 CDR's go out and 14 press reviewers say, for example, the vocal is not very good, the artist will remix or re-arrange the track.

    A TP is a Test Pressing, used for an early run of promotional copies, which are sent to A list DJ's, radio stations, press reviewers and TV dance shows.

    I hope this has been interesting.
