Last night: Gielen

I don't like Gielen much. He plays some ok stuff like Tomaz vs Filterheadz - Sunshine but ruins it too often with cheesy,tacky sounding tunes.
That mix of Born Slippy he plays is an insult to the classic that the original is.
Missed the back room at that stage but at least there was 2 good sets either side of him

Thats the one, its by Fingers Burnt I think, not my cup of tea but its Gielen all over!

He played a blinder, he's a fucking mint DJ, u can't expect every1 to like every tune. Its not as if he's Paul Van Dyk

i thought gielen was the pick of the bunch. But that's cos I like trance first and foremost.

Corvin Dalek was quite good, I found his sets used to grate on me but I am quite used to it now and he seemed to build it well.

Gielen was good but I've seen him be far better. As someone in this thread said he played a few decent tunes and a few classics. I thought he could've done better.

The techno woman wasn't my cup of tea....But others enjoyed so good stuff


Jon O'Bir will be far outdo this lot next month along with Above & Beyond

Bigdave once said to me that Gielen is the biggest cheeseball ever...but he's still class tho!

Spot on he caned The Theme for ages ffs, and is probably one of the few trance DJs' who can do that and still be taken seriously!

yeah, spoke at least 2 or 3 times, the first time o'bir came if i remember correctly, dicussing the delicaces of trance. 00, AVB, etc.. i'm good with faces, just get names mixed up. it's all coming back now.
