i enjoyed the balck and white parts in both films..made it much more interesting!i can only remember the church scence being in b&w in vol 2 though!

i thought the cartoon section in vol 1 was the best bit out of both films though!never expected it and it really birghtened up the film!:)

with you & miller on this as well. Vol 1 was miles better, this one dragged on in places with loads of snappy dialogue which just seemed to allow the characters/actors plenty of scope to show how massively cool they were but took the film nowhere in particular. Could have been done miles better than it was.

7/10 which is a shite score for tarantino. I hope he hasn't gone up his own arse but in the basis of this and all the interviews I've seen lately it looks like he's well on his way.... does he think he's so "fucking ultra cool" that whatever he does is good enough???

Brid the whole point to QT is he rips off other films, he's like a walking encyclopedia and although he has the odd inovative moments like the cartoon scene, the vast majority of this film was just paying tribute to both eastern and western cinematography.

The first one was straight eastern and mirrored films like lady snowblood (almost identically at times) and the second one is straight spagetti western mirroring sergio leone films...

Think the way he intergrates different and contrasting techniques is where he comes into his own.

I didnt think Vol2 was as good as vol1 tbh. Too much explaining, like Matrix 2 :spangled:  And I was disappointed with the end fight scene. Should have been longer :( Still good tho, essential if youve seen the first one obviously

Not every film he makes can be an absolute masterpiece though Si! I understand completley about how the actors got so much time in a way. Especially in the caravan scene I thought!!

this is exactly what he said, didn't he (*edit* Tarantino, not Brid, i thought i better make that clear!!) - it was a nod to the 70's kung fu movies coming from the east. hence him using Caradine in the part of Bill. another nod to the 70s.

i love the part in kill bill vol.1 where the bride and lucy thingy face off in the oriental garden, it's goes from inside, bright vivid colours, to serene tranquility of a garden with snow falling. it looks like a cartoon or computer game. The way she fights the different "end of level bosses" like in a computer game - each with their own strengths - but completely different from each other in a cartoon type way.

u gotta love it for what it is.
