I was referring to the ending.

Just because he led a good life doesn't make his horrific death any better, and I am pretty sure that that won't be much comfort for his family!

"Ah well, he did get his head chopped off, but it's alright becuase he was happy beforehand"

My point beforehand: at least he did have a happy life before that - millions and millions of others don't.

fair enough, but again, that will offer little comfort to his family.

    True. But such is life.

Soz, I'm being a cynical bastard today.

Ogrish.com - this used to be free. Now you have to pay!

I can't believe that people are profiting from videos of people being killed!

    Sick.

he went out there, he knew the risks, he did it for the ridiculous amount of money he would earn.

ill save my sympathy for the people out there who sucumb to far worse fates that DON'T have a choice whether they suffer things like this.

please, thats a totally naff attitude imo.

Wheres your source that he would be getting paid "rediculous amounts of money"? His family certainly didnt say anything like that, and neither has the news.

name me a worse fate than being held for 3 weeks and then having your head cut off??

Contractor's out there are on anything from £1000 to £5000 per week. Have a google.

Spending 60 years of your life in absolute poverty, starving, watching your children and grand-children die of aids, disease, famine and war, before becoming another statistic.

    :bang:

    have some sodding compassion ffs.

Fair enough, thats not a nice way to live a life. But its still very different to being horribly murdered.

edit - maybe they get alot but maybe he did it for the reasons that his family said - that he genuinely wanted to help people??

To be honest I can't believe the attitudes of some of the contributors to this thread, how would you feel if it was your brother, son, or dad??

He wasn't my brother, son, or dad though. If it was, then I'd be a bit gutted. But with the way that I am, I still would have known that he knew the consequences of his actions.

If he genuinely wanted to help people, being a westerner in Iraq is a bad idea... they don't seem to like all the *ahem* 'help' we've given them over the last 18 months (coupled with the americans bombing them daily for the 12 years previous  ). Plus, there's a hundred or so countries where the people are a lot worse off but if you go there to "help" them you don't get paid as much.

He's just one person out of 6 billion.

people do have compassion but wud i fuck let my brother, father, husband, son go & work in an environment like that! no matter how much he wanted to help....him trying to help a country that have ppl who don't want his help & willposs catch & kill him isn't worth the noble effort or cash reward he was getting. I'd rather have them at home where they belong !:)
