I blam Greg Downey for starting this off, it began as a piss take, since it's been on Radio 1 & most of the press releases.

Id prefer to be up there with the likes of Shola or Peter Ramage, those you named above are far too commercial & sooooo last week:cool2:

"On Friday 9th June 2006, Junior G celebrated its second event at "The Cosmic Ballroom" in Newcastle so one of our reviewers (Graham) decided to pop along to give us his opinion of the night. DJ's on the night were Jon O' Bir, John O' Callaghan, Barry Connell and Mark Maitland. This was our reviewer, Graham's, verdict! Read on for further details....
"Following on from the success of last months launch party, Goodgreef returned to Newcastle under their 'Junior:G' banner for the second of their monthly parties at The Cosmic Ballroom - and they did so with a line up that had message boards and forums buzzing for weeks in anticipation, with two of the outstanding up & coming talents in the UK trance scene.

Former GodsKitchen resident and Radio 1 man Jon O' Bir, & Discover's Irish starlet John O' Callaghan, were making rare north east appearances, with support from Goodgreef's newest resident Barry Connell and Junior:G resident Mark Maitland.

Arriving early at the club it was Maitland on first, knocking out tough electro and techno that ensured all the early entries into the club were on the dancefloor from the off. He handed over to Mr O' Bir just after 11pm, who from the off was playing his trademark upfront trance. Tracks played included Sean Tyas 'Lift', 'Coast to Coast - Cut me', his collaboration with Gareth Emery - 'No Way Back' and the Sander Van Doorn remix of Armin's 'Control Freak', which admittedly i wasnt that keen on until hearing this on a big system - what a difference it makes!!

Jon again proved to everyone why he is one of the most highly rated young DJ's around currently, and though the club wasnt as busy as the launch night (surprising considering the DJ talent on offer) he ended his set on 'Cut me' to a rapturous reception.

He handed over the controls to O'Callaghan, who took things a lot tougher and techier than O' Bir, playing a lot of his own tunes and remixes. Highlights included his much sought after 'Cruise Control', his re-edit of Dogzilla's 'Without U' (during which the sound system decided to cut out - much to the dislike of the crowd) his collaberation with Bryan Kearney - Exactly and also others such as Simon Patterson's anthemic 'F-16'.

For the last hour it was GoodGreef ressie Barry Connell to finish off, and first impressions reminded everyone of a certain other former GG resident, cutting and scratching with a lot of energy over hard trance and techno that was a good end to an awesome night.

Musically one of the best nights out ive had in a while - O' Bir in particular played a blinder - though you get the feeling the promoters would have liked a better turn out, as the 400 capacity club was just over half full.

Certainly no complaints from anyone that did turn up though, and with Greg Downey, Tylor Leigh and local hero Gary Proud next month heres hoping to a good turn out and another wicked night"

i refuse to be put into the "they" bracket, i no longer proof the press releases...and it shows...!it doesnt help that the person who writes them has absolutely no knowledge of the scene

Discoteque (crasher Nottingahm), one of the most impressive Nightclubs Iv'e came across out of all Iv'e been to in my time, Newcastle desperatly misses clubs like these, the visual system they have behind the DJ booth makes Digitals efforts look like a few glow sticks. Pete Tong was blob on, not sure of the guys name before him warming up but he was shit hot.
