I've been there all my life. I feel totally alienated from mainstream culture because it is so THICK. every mainstream opinion seems to be based on lies and half truths and fear.
They are about to introduce sniffer dogs and airport style security checks at mainline stations from next month. It's supposed to be about terrorism but it's really about control. If we're scared enough we will see all our freedoms given away and not kick off about it. Did anybody ask us if we want to queue for an hour to get on a train ? will we be any safer?

There was a bloke at work who was banging on about the 9/11 conspiracy. Apparently he is a structural engineer, metal expert and top NORAD general rolled into one.

The people who run things are too crap to do successful conspiracies. the world as we see it is simply the result of thousands of bad short term decisions made by more or less ordinary people who are ruled by selfishness, greed and the lust for power. It was always like that and always will be. We have to guard what freedoms we have because they are so easily lost, mostly by people who mean well.

They aren't bad decisions to the people who've benefited from them. You're just miffed because youve got the rough end of the stick. There are billions of people who are completely happy with their life. I don't think you really understand what freedom is to be honest.
