thats him! i was chattin to him when jel played at nts a couple of months ago, but i cudnt remember his name cos i was slightly worse for wear  cant believe there still pressing the original control freak on mouseville i get sent them
Who by? I know ELP don't do mp3 promos........ Get it from Erik? Sorry, just a bit confused as to why they would only send two tracks from the ep. Whenever I've got mp3 promos from labels it's all the tracks from the full vinyl release.
depends, when plantage13 send pickadolls they sometimes send 2/4 but if its a 3 track ep they norm send all
Pickadoll are distributed by Intergroove - Germany, and all their labels are exclusive to them, as I've always understood it anyway. So they aren't snidey ones then? Seems a bit far fetched that A&R would be sending out promos for an ep and leaving a track off that would potentially get played by the djs they're sending it to, surely the whole point of promos is to get feedback on ALL the tracks on an ep, so that they can judge pressing quantities etc, and get it some club plays from high profile DJs to get a buzz about it. To leave one track off would be pointless, especially as they have no way of possibly knowing which mix you would play, so I really don't understand why they would do that.
i dont really see wat ur problem with it all is, and why the need to constantly question everything i say i didnt mean i get sent them from a&r, i meant i have people that do a&r i.e. get new material and then it is sent through that way, they arent affiliated with the labels pickadoll as awell as others like kaliber, spiel-zeug, ginat wheel etc are managed by plantage13, http://www.plantage13.com/manage/index.html and thats whom i get promos of those labels, if u want to know who i get them off it is jan
Because you don't want people to know you're using soulseek to get up front tracks? I wouldn't be questioning it if what you were saying made sense, I just can't understand why anyone promoting an ep would only send two of the three tracks on an ep, it might be the one track that make you like the ep or that you would play, so leaving it out would be stupid on their part. I also have never come across labels releasing mp3s to an outside agent, not affiliated with the label to be distributed to anyone within their network, it's just asking for your mp3s to be copied and end up on soulseek, as the labels themselves then have no control over where it goes, which at the moment, just seems very unlikely. That's all. So who does your A&R? Do you have to pay them? Interested as to why you would need people doing A&R for you.
Hadn't heard much of him for ages but I just got one of his sets the other day Live with Justin Maxwell @ Harry Klein Club, Munich (27.04.06) - Although I haven't listened to it yet....
I agree 100% but I am guilty of falling into the obsessing about a sound! But I totally totally agree with what you are saying
John Tejada & Justin Maxwell @ Harry Klein, Munich (27.04.2006 Part 1 Part 2 Each Mix is about 2 1/2 hrs long though....
