If you dont like J00F - then you cant claim to be a true fan of electronic music.

He's a god amongst these parts, whether you like his musical style or not!

i think Jnr:G has more of that feel, less commercial and more sweaty.

plus tech trance is always a plus when off ones box

it'll never be promise @ foundation, like it won't be shindig @ foundation - it just isn't.

Plus the glory day of big room trance has gone now, especially in picky newcastle. to make something work on a big scale, you're always going to have to broaden your appeal. the way i see it, some of the line ups aren't my taste - then you get one that blows your socks off. suits me fine

however, it makes u think how spoilt we were 4 or so years ago when promise was still weekly with people like joof, hardwick, yves dreyuter, ornadel, sheridan, o'bir, dalek on EVERY week :(

    M.O.S,

    its human nature

    people whinge about stuff

you then take something away and they get all misty eyed about it

but the evolve name is ironic, it hasnt evolved from anything other than what promise was

but on the posters they obviously take the evolve name so seriouly they even have a defination of what the word evolve means

canny night, i just wish they would take a few more risks with the bookings,

whoever it is who is directing the bookings

no one said it wernt a quality night

but evolve hasnt even been going a year and its already repeating its bookings and copying lineups that have worked from a host of other nights in the northeast

    its formula is like this

big name that promise booked in past + booking that has worked at other local nights + a bit of pandering to the "board that was formerly the promise board" = lineup

that will work for so long but it wont sustain the night long term

the judge / eddie / lashes etc etc etc did not keep promise going - they just got the night a mainstream name

why dont you come out from hiding behind your big dawg name

    i KNOW WAHT YOUR SAYING

YOU SHOULD KNOW KNOW YOURSELF HOW HARD IT IS TO BOOK QUALITY DJS. MOST TOP djS ARE BOOKED FOR MONTHS AND MONTHS SO YOU NEED SOME GIVE AND TAKE.

are you the artist formerly known as crazy jimmi by any chance?

    or mark deakin??

    or richard tulip???

or henry the mild mannered janitor

...anyway hasnt lashes been on twice in under a year

and if I was a betting man i would have a tenner on the lashes tour turning up at evolve before the end of the year

hardwick, lashes. jules, ferry, marco v etc etc etc

thats not evolution its "son of promise"

no one denying the quality of those jocks

but it IS PROMISE now isnt it???

I totally agree with what your sayin, evolve? promise? who gives a fuck what the name is.

at the end of the day we want a good night out with good djs

so far no complaints with evolve, you seem to be the only one complaining.

out of junior G, Detox and Evolve; evolve seems to the night with the best Djs. And I think it will get stronger and stronger.

No one ever complains about seeing the same djs over and over again at the likes of gatecrasher, godskitchen, golobal gatherin do they???

    (1) I aint complaining, i am passing an observation on how ironic the name is

    (2) your last comment says it all, the "best djs" comment is subjective, some of those other nights you mention people tend to go because of the event rather than the big name dj

    (3) hasnt evolve just had on the likes of tissera, savage and just booked fleming

    detox - tissera (april 06)
    detox - savage (dec 05 & may 07)
    detox - fleming (may 07)

    I beg to differ.

Maybe the most exspensive DJ's, yes. DEFINATELY NOT the best LOL:lol:
However I do agree, Evolve will definately go from strength to strength & has heaps of potential & the club to back it up.

Hows that? because they've had Above & Beyond and Marco V

Above & BEyond have been shit for a few years, and Marco V's styles changed that much he shouldnt be in a club with a trance music policit ever again.

Sure they now have J00F and Askew but both have been booked in the last year by the other two clubs you mentioned so how that makes Evolves lineups better i'd like to know.

    Look at Junior G...

Menno de Jong, Tyas, JOC, Kearney Mac Zimms, Marc van Linden etc etc....

They've had quality bookings without anyone who you'd pay a fortune for like Marco V, been catering for loads of different tastes in music and giving north eastern debuts to upcoming artists.

I cant think of any Evolve lineup i've thought fucking hell ive gotta go to that, yet theres been lineups like that at Junior G when the likes of JOC & O'Bir get booked and Tyas etc.

evolve's at digital, and digital has better lights and fitter birds, so evolve wins tbf.
