A Sad day for all concerned. Gutted to say the least. Think Mark & Richard have done a great job over the years, but the scene aint what it used to be and i cant say im suprised this has eventually came round.

Good luck with all you've got planned in the future though the both of you, no doubt your next venture if there is to be one will be just as successful as the this one.:)

Well I'm gutted to say the least :( Had the best nights ever in promise. Nowhere else has kept me dancing and happy for 7 hours straight like promise has.

I think there's a few things we need to do here though.

    1. A big congratulations to the whole Promise team for providing us with such quality nights over the years. Well done! :king:

    2. Make sure we all meet up on Saturday, maybe even beforehand somewhere in town for the people that have the whole day off. Maybe it would be nice for as many people as possible to stay right till the end at 4am so we can all get some big group photos taken? Just a suggestion but it would be a good reminder of the quality nights and people that we've met because of Promise.

    3. Get another forum sorted before this one closes down. If anyone has plenty of webspace they could use or if we all chipped in a quid or so we could get some more forums sorted no prob. They're pretty easy to install and set up.

pretty gutted :( no more trance nights in newcastle. never really got to meet many ppl off here unfortunately, would've been good to eventually meet some of you. think twisted logic will be my regular local trance fix now. if anyone off here see's me there would be cool to say hello n put faces to names etc :)

and the muppet who said promise has been a failure is so far off the mark, that list of names is defo something promise can be proud of

    I dunno what to say..

    Gutted.
    Majorly gutted.

Suppose we'll just have to wait and see what new nights/projects appear.. however they will have to be massive to fill the void left by promise's exit.

Just hoping that Mark and Rich come up with something in this area..

We should defo sort out a new forum..
    Promiseforever.com or something..
Might be possible you never know.

Normally in these circumstances ppl normally say "look to the future" but tbh.. there is nothing to look 2..

Thanks for all the memories.. :king:

Defo possible. I've set loads of forums up in the past its just knowing how much bandwidth/space it'll require.

    aye.
it is a total shame like, 6 good years of promise but im still canny surprised its ending now.

it makes you wonder if this would have happened had digital not opened?? suppose we will never know, gutted like as im not too keen on digital as a club

even more excuse to make it a good one saturday  :D

possibly even be a good thing for trance in newcastle not having one night with such a stranglehold in the city, could give smaller nights more chance to make a name for themselves.

    roll on saturday  :D

    as in a 10mbit connection?

It'll have to be a proper host for forums with as much activity on as this one. It's the upload speed that is required. Your 10mbit will only be download speed :(

Yeah that would be a good start. Then after that you just need to get a suitable, fast server with enough space to host a forum like this that has php and mySQL. phpBB is a decent, free message board like unless anyone has a license for vb.
