HAHAHAHA I love the fact that as soon as people have started saying how shite Tiesto is, Rory Space-between-the-ears changed his signature to a Ferry Corsten banner instead!

Ahh what a class thread! - I ain't laughed so much in ages... it's all about personal opinion at the end of the day and there's so many sub-genres of trance anyway. Fact is you either love him or hate him and I'm not fussed either way. He's pretty much a money machine anyway... the only thing I can kind of compare it to is Man Utd where the whole thing isn't about football anymore, it's all about the merchandise and you have so many supporters in foreign countries who buy into the brand name and have probably never even watched a game of their so called favourite team. Anyone remember the comical lines in Kevin & Perry? Sash or Chicane, House or Garage, Pumping House etc etc... The name Tiesto is generally one that everyone has heard of even if they haven't seem him play. I caught Tiesto at Amnesia back in Ibiza in the late nineties and he was pretty amazing, then again in Falaraki 2005 when he played one of his outdoor gigs and I thought he was terrible. You can almost guarantee three tunes in every set - urban train, flight 643 & adagio for strings. You just need to look at things like Disneyland, his Tiesto concerts and the Olympic Games - it's simply a brand name and I guess he probably doesn't care about the money anymore since he's probably rolling in it. I don't care for his productions these days or the compilation albums either since most of the tunes are pretty poor. If you like him then that's your opinion but I'm not gonna be the one to start having a bashing session just because you support a particular DJ....
