A personally think there's a shit load more competition nowadays and a lack of venues 2 host the nights we all crave. A don't think most people are that clued up in regards to dance music as they used to be up here, so they take more notice of the venue as opposed to the event or the dj's that are playin!

Just to clear the shuffle of nights on Fridays up once and for all:

Wax:On - who have been with us from the start - requested a move to the first Friday.

This helped them with their Leeds bookings and also meant that their Birthday and a couple of other dates fell better for them

We then spoke to Richard Tulip who was happy to move Evolve to the second Friday

At this point, and months in advance, we informed Barry at GG alerting him that this would mean we were on the same date as Junior G and giving him the option to reshuffle - hardly corporate practice surely?

Turbulence has - since it came to Digital - been on the last Friday of the month and we naturally informed Gav - who we have always had a good relationship with - that this was happening

The one offs like Simians - Retro etc fall in when dates allow

Erm...........that's it really...... no conspiracy theory..........

    As for Digital Brighton

I moved here from Brighton, my kids where born there,
I have loads of mates there and The Zap was a legendary club where I went to my first ever raves

So when it came on the market it was a no brainer

    over to you Melt..............

according to the old faceybook there's meant to be some new place opening that is a NUS only venue that only operates on 3 weeknights

    http://newcastletyne.facebook.com/group.php?gid=8086033685

dunno where it is or anything but it's another venue

I haven't been in there for about 12years, but I don't remember it being that big. And there's only one floor isn't there?

I'm old enough to remember the last ever club in the bigg market.. called Bentleys.. closed in the late 1980's (edit..was closed due to gang/doormen and drug violence)

I don't think I've ever been in a ruffer club since. Was a unique experience thats for sure!.

I wondered why it was NUS only at that stealth place, makes sense now

might do well, alot of the students go boozing round the bigg market on weeknights, the queues outside blu bambu get massive on one night can't remember which maybe wednesday, this drum and bass thing on a wednesday might be a shrewd move, get the student lot in who aren't into the bambu thing

I see your point but I doubt that a Ugg Boots In - Uglies Oot policy will be easily enforced or last very long

It's a long Summer and not an NUS card in sight
