I dont know how anyone could watch more than 2 mins of video on an ipod screen , would properly hurt my eyes

As for the shit battery life and laughable headphones...one of the perks of having a ipod im afraid!!!

I originally thought i'd opnly appreciate the video for tons and tons of funny clips but after seeing how good the quality is it's fine for watching films. Saying that I've onyl watched Mr Bean but i'm sure i'd be able to watch a whole film no problem.

Just got a black 30gb Ipod today - Its fantastic.

Had a 40gb, shuffle, 60gb Photo and now a 30gb Video Ipod - the newest one is incredibly thin and the video stuff is fab.

    Really pleased with mine :)

updating? apparently mine is up to date

When it's done charging watch some videos and see how fast the battery goes down..

that was my point... i'm sure it looks lovely - just too small and it'd give me a headache

here's what i'd sugest ( a complete shot in the dark)

Maybe the battery indicator is an ESTIMATE of how much time you've got left? So if you're running videos, it ESTIMATES how much battery life it's got left running at that consumption - i.e. videos use more power than music alone.

sounds plausable - and i've just made it up. solid.

I don't bother with the apple earphones, instead I've use a pair of Sony Fontopia's which I had for my minidisc. Not only are they less conspicuous, but the bass on them is so much better than the apple ones

I've got a new ipod- am well chuffed with it. Although it came with a really thin instruction booklet that tells me fuck all! Will have to get onto the site and see if there is more info on there.

Having to convert all my wma files into mp3 is taking absolutely ages! Is it meant to be that slow? I do have around 20GB of music but it's been going for around 4 hours and only on the letter 'J'! I suppose I'm just impatient and can't wait to get up and running with my ipod :)

People shouldnt knock it just because it's Apple- it's mint :D

I always rename every file i download anyways and change the title etc on them all.....

Ive had no problems with i tunes or anything as far as arranging my music goes and everythings really easy to find when i want it.

Im probably a geek but i find it easier this way and i tunes when everythings arranged is a piece of piss!

When you upadate your ipod when everythings changed it takes hours but imo ipods are class, i love mine and it goes everywhere will me!

When i first put stuff on mine it took about 8-9 hours but i was putting about 19gig on it now i only have about 8 gig and it only takes about 5 mins to update when i add new stuff every few weeks.

You can turn a full length movie into a 1gb MP4 file - and its full framerate and looks (for the size of the screen) just like a dvd............. thats 30 movies on the 30gb ipod

Unfortunately the battery is waxed in only 2 hours if you play video's - compared to 14 hours playing mp3's - but everyone ive shown mine too playing videos has said it looks amazing.

Thanks, at least I know it's not just mine being really slow!

The only other problem is, sometimes my laptop doesnt recognise music files I've got so it just comes up with 'track 1 track 2' etc, so now I have loads of them and dunno what any of them are until I play them:evil:

Is that cos your using a cd and putting it on ur ipd from there?
select add new playlist then rememebre the day u put it on there and edit the playlist so that only files u put on the day u put them on are included then when u listen theres only them on, it seems wierd but smart play lists are easy to use when u make one and get used to them!

Ipods are just about keeping everythin organized.......do that and your laughing!
