    erm dunno...

    when we were planning on going we looked at phuket, krabi, koh phi phi etc which are quite far from bangkok...we had trains booked to go down there too :)

    the best thing to do is to go & get yourself a lonely planet guide...it's the best bible to have when you are travelling :D

    honest they're the dogs bollocks...get either the thailand one or if you's are mainly going to be in the south just the beaches one :up:

    do you know where i can find world weather but for last dec?? want to do a mini trip somewhere in dec but don't know where was hot then?? :dunce: :lol:

    you need to go to an outdoor shop (a good one tho) i.e. not nevis sport & not blacks & they will be able to advise you cos it depends on your back length (i think) as to what you should get...it's to make sure for comfort & ease that you don't hurt yourself with a pack to big...

    once you've got sized up you could go somewhere cheaper to buy it but i'd reccomend going to a decent place for advice :up:

    i've found nevis & blacks staff are fairly clueless on outdoor stuff even tho they work there

    i'm trying to remember where snow & rock has opened up & the name of the outdoor shop at the bottom of grey st in newcastle :D

    it's to do with your back length... i'm sure

    i could get a canny sized pack cos of my height & soem ofthe blokes ones fitted me better than the womans..i got mine from a new zealand company..cost a fortune even tho i got it half price....

    the trip when i went to japan i tried to take loads of stuff & altho i used it all i wished i hadn't bothered cos i got a dead leg from my syatic (sp) nerve going funny...even now the tops of my legs are prone to going dead & they feel numb for weeks at a time...tis very funny to expcerience but wouldn't recommend it..so less is best :lol:

    i got mine down to 12k on my thailand trip where as it was nearly 20 on my japan trip...altho i was away for longer in japan i could've still managed to take less

    also in thailand there are laundry places & you can get stuff washed, dryed & ironed for a couple of quid :up:
