I start college tomorrow!!

i really wasnt meaning to be nasty, but i dont think steves attitude was the right one to take, he could have finished college by now and have some good qualifications in music n stuff, but he hasnt and hes working at maccy d's, fair enough he may be earning good money but thats not really where he wants to be for the rest of his life is it?

im not saying qualifications are vital, but they help!

stewart (one of the djs of techoorgasm) has just recently landed a job working in a studio with a guy related to forensic records to learn more and work his way up. And he is on the dole!! with no qualifications whatsoever!!! and he got this through the guy at the studio hearing a cd of a production stew created with Propellerheads Reason (software for the pc - studio in one)!!!!

and if he got a phd how would that land him a gig at crasher or promise?

im not saying it would, but maybe it could help him to do bigger and better things. i agree with bob too, but i just think steve is taking a silly attitude by saying education is crap, i agree with him on some points but i just dont think him saying its a waste of time is fully correct!

Like a few have said It all depends what area of work you want to get into! I would give examples such as a doctor etc. But I think my point has already been made by others!

Education and experience go hand in hand. One is as vital as the other IMO. But depending on what job / career you are after sometimes one is more important than the other

As long as peeps are happy i see no reason to have a go at them for what they are doing at the moment !

firstly, steve posted a generalised opinion, not aimed at anyone, not even at you glitter, just about how he sees education and getting a job in his eyes.

- to which i actually agree with him, he may not have got it across as well as he likes, but we all know he aint the most clever person on the planet..thats just the way he is.

But what i dont like is the way a few of the members on this board took the opportunity to slate the lad.

Yes ive slated him before, ive even publicly humiliated him and got wrong for doing so. But ive come to accept thats the way steve is.
I think we all know how he is now, and there was no need for a few members of the board to have a go at him, and not his opinion.

yeah i can understand that kerry, im not targeting you singly, its just all of a sudden out of the blue, about 4 or 5 members decided to jump on the band wagon and have a go at him.
