I liked it, although it felt really underdeveloped in loads of areas. Those CGI zombies were rubbish as well ..... how about the ones from 28 weeks later - now those are fuckin scary and dont need shitty cgi!!! Shame, since it had miles more potential that it didnt capitalise on! Almost like they left 30 minutes of film on the cutting room floor.
underdeveloped... exactly my sentiments regarding this film. doesn't make it a bad watch, but what should/could have been a stand out film, sadly isn't.
just read this about the original alternative film ending : the scene where Neville is surrounded by darkseekers is from an ending that was eventually scrapped after focus group testing. Supposedly, this ending has Neville releasing the Alpha Female, and the Alpha Male then leaves him in peace. Neville and Anna then go together to Virginia
I thought the zombies has set that trap which had me waiting for an explanation till the end of the film. Afterwards I was like eh? If they were able to learn how to set an exact replica of a trap that easily, surely they'd work out that making some sort of cloak to protect them from the sun would give them an extra 12 hours a day to find a bit munch. I hope Coverfield or whatever it's getting called is gonna live up to expectations.
The zombies were shit, like brid said, if they were just like in 28 days later the film would have been better. Decent watch but could have been a lot better with nucastle.co.uk as directors
