Just been on talk sport to talk about the sacking as neutral living in newcastle i support leeds was born there lived here 22 years. Loads of mate newcastle fans. The presenter then talks to me about bradley johnsons contact difficultys at leeds then ask me why i think houghton deserves to keep his job. I mention he bought stability to newcastle who are 11th in the league which for a promoted club is a decent position, pointed out he has also brought Carroll though to get an england call up and spent money on Tiote who looks a bargin. Then get told the result against Chelsa was poor and a am wrong for thinking it was a good result for newcastle and cut off before he talked about anything positive i pointed out Houghton has done for the club. Got to love the london media. God knows what they wanted me to say.
Unreal. Joke. Stupid. I think everyone accepted there was going to be bad days. But theres been enough very good days to keep everyone cheered and 11th is perfectly acceptable so far. Even Man U got beat 4-0 last week, Chelsea have had several bad days lately, the mackems have come back well from their thrashing. What does Ashley expect ??? I think the irony is that Hughton will get hardly any pay-off while the likes of Souness and Allardyce earned fortunes for running the club into the ground.
I'm baffled by this one as were all the lads at work (I work in Gateshead). Fair enough the Bolton and West Brom results were bad but other than those two results hes done an amazing job on the resources. Like Graham says I hope you don't get O'neill
Agreed, he is a fat weapon. Its just wrong on so many levels. Another massive mistake. Chris Hughton has done an absolutely unbelievable job considering. Pardew would be a step backwards and will do no better job. He will not give O'Neil money or anyone else high profile so thats a non starter. James, I presume it was Adrian Durham who was giving you grief? He was talking a lot of rubbish when I was listening on way home.
Even if we did mate (which I could never see) we need to ask ourselves if it would really work? I mean, we've had all these apparent 'big money' Managers in the past: Keegan, Gullit, Dalglish, Allerdyce - all of which proved what in the end?
Apart from maybe O'Neill, non of the names mentioned realistically sound like they could better where we are at the moment given the exact same resources?
one of my pals is a floor manager in a casino in london and Ashley has been in there twice in the past few days having a meal with curbishley. i've had a tenner at 8/1 with coral.
Pardew Confirmed. http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/fo...e-line-Alan-Pardew-replace-Chris-Hughton.html well, not confirmed, however if the daily mail said it, it must be true!
I'm completely fucking baffled at how the board think Pardew is this so-called "bigger manager" that is needed to take us forward?!?!? Apart from a poor couple of games (which even Chelsea/Man U/Arsenal have suffered from) the club had stability, which is something I honestly thought I'd never say again just over a season ago. I'm totally gutted and deflated by all this shit Ashley's brought on this week. For once we weren't in the media for being the circus we had become and even Mackems had no reason to rinse us. Why decide to do this if a substandard, out of work manager, or even someone on a par with Hughton, is named as replacement. Gutted for him. Complete lack of respect for someone who was practically guaranteed to keep us up! If we go down this season, the board want shot as it'll be all their own doing.
Pretty much all of this ^ Summed up perfectly: http://www.telegraph.co.uk/sport/fo...lutely-no-class-in-sacking-Chris-Hughton.html
