I'm certainly not one of them. I was there at least once a week, if not more. Fri, Sat and Mon a few times !

I loved how hot it used to get, signs of a proper club and a busy night!

It was always the best time when it used to empty out. All the mortal people used to leave, you'd get just the right amount of space to dance and it would still feel busy. All your mates used to be together down the front and it was amazing! :(

    :cool2:

even if it was. i'm only 20 and i've managed to see Foundation in its hay-day, the rise and fall and rise again of digital - and yet its only just begun :D

    aside from that,

if i was to change digital with some serious dolla - i rekon if you put some kind of balcony over/around the dancefloor and bring down the ceiling where the back bar is in the main room. that would make a crackin room 2/3/4 above like - and you would have space to do it as well.

i hate the feeling when you walk in and it feels like youve walked into a tardis.

this is pretty much a northern thing. daan saaf everyone kind of goes out later. when i lived in the smoke we would be going to the club of choice at 1 maybe 2 o'clock(early really). drunken beer boys/girl were well and truely fucked and offski home by then.

it has taken some adjusting to get used to being out in town for 7, off to a club for 11ish and turfed out at 3!!!

More podiums & i can`t believe no one has touched on the lighting in there, it`s sooo gloomy, i swear it puts you on one & affects the night in a negative way, get some seriously top notch lighting in there, a set up befitting of a venue of Digital`s stature & employ a sound engineer to ensure the funktion 1 is always running at it`s best, as DJ`s fucking with the outputs during their sets has it sounding terrible half the time! :( .......

Also - Obviously try & attract a better standard of clientele, i can understand how that may be hard, as clubbing crowds aint what they used to be! :( ...........

Newcastle has got some fucking shit licensing laws, probably down to the attitude of joe public. Every club is open til at least 5am (3am lock down though) in Brisbane, then there's Birdees which is open 24 hours for all the munters to go to after. I don't go out til about 11, by which time all the people on the grog are well and truly pissed, and they usually fuck off at around 2ish for a bite to eat at the restaurants and cafe's which are open 24 hours (around the Valley - nightlife hub) in a nice relaxed atmosphere, so no rush for a kebab in a crowded take away, which is where a lot of the trouble I've seen in Newcastle happens (though there are plenty of kebab shops too). Then on Queen Street Mall (just like Northumberland street) there are loads of 24 hour cafe's and restaurants which are licensed 23 hours a day, so you can have a beer and a full breakfast from 7 in the morning, its fucking class! And Brisbane is considered behind the times compared to Sydney and Melbourne!

Saying that, I love Newcastle's nightlife, cos its so diverse. Only dance music thats popular here in clubs is house, breaks and electro - Tiesto is playing later this month, tickets (which are 60, yes SIXTY quid) sold out in 1 hour.

    pity he's shit.

i dont think i would want to go out for that long tbh. i did it (again) last saturday - and because of the full on "watching-the-sun-rise-with-a-can-of-strongbow" attitude, i pretty much lost a sunday, and made a right arse of mesel in various different pubs in south shields on a sunday afternoon, fell asleep (apparently) around 2/3 oclock and didnt wake up till 8 in the morning on monday. i'd rather have got some decent sleep and started the session a-fresh the next day.

I know that spiritual "Just one more can" feeling too well. Me, Basic Instinct and mate thought it would be a great idea to go to the top of a hill at 5 in the morning in Newton Aycliffe, drink cider and snort shitloads of ket when I was back last August. I then had to figure out how to get back to newcastle for 12 as I was supposed to go for a few pints and a sesh with ash. was fucking awful, passed out at about 17.30

Too dark??? You can never get too dark. I much prefer the bar area now with the lights out... Some good comments on how to change the place coming through.

I would lower the DJ booth slightly, get rid of VIP area, make it even darker.

Plus... Change the LED's behind the DJ to a massive visuals screen and have more Shindig branding about the dance floor area on a Saturday. The banners in the bar area are class, I'd just like to see some stuff around the dance floor area.

lower the prices, lose the bars, take out them three table things going down the left hand side of the dancefloor leading to the left hand stairs, sort some better lighting, make sure the lcd lights behind the box work all the time, lower the box itself, get rid of the 'vip' shoebox, make the entrance to the toilets bigger, fit a drain in the gents, lower the ceiling on the back bar and tell the bar staff not to bother putting napkins down when they serve you a drink
