Hi Everyone,

Firstly, I'd just like to tell anyone who thinks that big clubs don't put local lads in the main room, they do! One example that springs to mind is Yousef@Cream, another is Slinky, who's residents are Gaz White and Tim Lyall, these are both local lads!

Some might say that local lads wouldn't pull in enough punters, but, the last time I came to Promise Guy Ornadel (not local, big cheese, so to speak) was on and the club wasn't even half full. Whats going on???????

Promise has the best crowd of people I've ever had the pleasure to boogie along side! Maybe they should be listened to!

As for Lee Foster being on at Promise, he would pull in the crowd and go down a storm! Ministry booked him in the main room with Tall Paul! Shit! Their business sense must have went right out of the window on that one!

One last thing, Muzik Mag like to promote all good clubs in the clubbing section. It only takes one phone call/email, from the promoter of the club, for that club night to be listed. Shindig are constantly in the listings as one of the best clubs in the North East!

I don't think Smash Hit's covers this sort of stuff, but if you like Hear'say it will be right up your street!

Yousef won his residency - don't know the history of slinky so can't comment there...

Lee Foster may of played some of the biggest clubs in the UK, this isn't the issue - I think the issue is he wouldn't pull a crowd... I know mark is all for supporting local talent (big or small) - you can't hide from the fact Richie isn't a superstar DJ and he's a local lad - so are the always lads...

Most DJ's don't just land spots at bigger clubs - they work their way up... it sounds like Lee Foster is already starting to make a name for himself I'd liek to think the next time the main DJ pulls out mark will seriously consider booking Lee Foster. But Lee Foster isn't big enough to headline Promise. IMO

As I pointed out earlier when Guy was on, he didn't even PULL A CROWD.

The Local Lads may not pull a crowd in either but the issue here is they will never get the chance to try anyway.

DJ's working there way up is also a questionable subject! This sounds harsh but in most cases it's not what you know, it's who you know!

Lee might not be BIG enough to headline Promise, but he's big enough to go all the way with his ability and skills as a DJ! We love you Lee!

I'm not saying don't book Lee, I think he really does suit promise and he's a very talented DJ, its just to put him on a main slot is inpracticle and as far as warm up DJ's go richard is one of the greatest warm up DJ's in the country.

Most DJ's do work their way up - yes its a case of who you know, but that aint the only factor?!?!? Take eddie halliwell he worked his way from a small club through sundis, helped make goodgreef then landed a spot at crasher. Its very rare for a DJ to land a residency at a large club like say Yousef.

90% of the time smaller DJ's don't get booked at large club, I wouldn't class lee as small from what you've made out he's well on the way to establishing a name for himself and I'd guess as far as local talent goes he's got the strongest chance of getting booked.

But good luck to him, I really do hope he gets a set at promise - cos I was thoroughly impressed with all his CD's.
