sign of the times WHQ opening their doors to other promoters for the fri/sat slot - but it worked really well, even with the 2 different prices on the door

Hooked worked really well with Wax:On, to be honest I don't know why more nights don't do it.

Assuming you get the balance right and the nights aren't too similar it provides a good contrast between the events. It also means that people who are fans of one genre of music get exposed to another that they may not have heard before (and may actually like).

Foundation did a "Battle of the Nights" thing a few years back (and again for the water aid thingy), in which residents from Smile, Stonelove, Promise and Shindig all played under the same roof, and it was fucking mint. I'd certainly love to see more of the same.

I suppose what you mean by party. If your talking outdoor, in the city centre, I would have thought the Dig lads would no a bit. They did the events on the life centre grounds.
Really for any event, your local/city representative would be a good place to start.
I think events that benefit the cities culture, or contribute to something like a charity are more likely to be granted a license.
    Where would you hold one?

The main rooms are house and techno and the back rooms are usually disco.

Quite a contrast if you ask me.

do you have any idea what you're talking about?

i'll add that habit, when it was at the cosmic, had a disco backroom too, occasionally hosted by thosethatknow/deepdown (durham)...
