the government beleives in capitalism and the market. This is the market in operation. enjoy.
the government has no money to cut fuel bills except by raising taxes from the rest of us. If they go to Brid he will tell them to fuck off why should he help a bunch of car workers what has it got to do with him. B.O.B will tell you the same.
And green energy is a good thing but is more expensive than coal or gas at the moment so the only way we will get green energy is if the taxpayer backs it.

Its not the governments job to keep individual business alive.

Manufacturing has been killed in this country - its only a matter or time before most heavy industry or production gets offshored. Once again, blame a government that sets up the right conditions that make it better to move production abroad, than it does to keep it here.

One of those things is labour bills and corporation tax - so it comes full circle. All the people saying they should be paid more and businesses should pay more are partially responsible themselves since in this day and age, all it does is make us uncompetitive.

Yet people love to brag about how their house doubled in price (meaning people at the bottom of the ladder need higher wages to afford a house in the first place etc).

The west is in big trouble cause of this pretty much - opening up markets to exploit cheap labour has basically come back to bite us on the arse.

They did pay for my education separately. The rest was paid in taxes. As I said, I pay for the services I use, and so did they. I would actually say I pay for more than the services I use, as I use very few public services compared to those that are available. If I fall sick or get injured I have insurance, so I pay for that privately too.

I personally believe I have a moral duty to help those who can't help themselves. I still don't owe anyone anything though.

IT's your wonderful global capitalism which has created the conditions where it is cheaper to move abroad , what the fuck can the government do about it?
Do you suggest that everyone in manufacturing takes a pay cut to chinese levels?
The UK already has the lowest business taxes in Europe.
If manufacturing goes and the stock exchange gets taken over by the US and exports it's profits back to America we will all be left with taking in each others washing for a living

Yeah your right - i say 'fuck off' every month when i get paid and half of it goes to the government.

yeah i say fuck off when we pay 200 quid a month council tax.

Yeah i say fuck off when i pay 96 quid for car tax and only half of it gets spent on the roads/transport

Yeah i say fuck off when i put petrol in my car and 75% of that goes to the government

Yeah i say fuck off when i go to the shops and 17.5% goes on the stuff i buy.

Yeah i say fuck off when i buy a bottle of beer or wine and a massive chunk goes to the government.

Yeah, im full of 'fuck off''s me like.

Do you buy anything from abroad? If so, then you are funding global capitalism. It's us demanding cheap products and food that forces companies to move abroad. If you don't agree with it, put your money where your mouth is and buy British! You should also complain when foreign companies (eg Nissan) choose to site their factories etc as it is taking jobs away from their home nations.

Feeling that I have a moral duty is not the same as owing anyone.

    What do you mean?

By cheap - i meant the capitalistic system that brought computers into every home, with a cheap broadband connection.

If you were living in your socialists paradise, a computer would be something you would probably have to queue for down at the local 'ministry of computers' in order to spend 10 minutes marvelling at the fantastic green screen.

Yes, and I pay my taxes. As I said, I pay for the services I use, plus some for the services that my taxes go towards that I don't use.

do you imagine that the universities of china and india will not rise as their economies get richer?
and why do you imagine that science is the only way to grow the economy?
The arts have at least as much to contribute. Our imagination and creativity is what will keep us afloat and that operates as much in the media as in the sciences.
