    Just thought I'd add.

www.reed.co.uk is also a good site for people looking for work in London.

Trying to escape Newcastle and find a job myself at the moment in the southern part at the moment - Surrey/Guildford area.

Inner-city London is a bit too intense for me + I don't mind commuting if I wanna do the whole bar/club scene.

Sites like Monster, Reed and other High Street recruitment companies are alright for finding a broad range of jobs. If you have an idea of which sector you'd like to work in though, you'd be much better off dealing with recruiters that deal specifically in that area.

French William - you live in Luxembourg yeah?

    Have it :D

Working just near Shepherd's Bush/Kensall Green as of August - and because they swap you round after a year that means guaranteed Fulham/Paddington/Kensington for the year after!

Where's good to live round Shepherd's Bush?

    Generally pretty expensive around there.

You can get a bus from Elephant & Castle to Sheperds Bush which takes around 35 minutes..think its the 185.

Live somewhere shit like Kensington. You're a first year doctor and have just moved to London- you're practically never gonna see your flat.

We're just trying to buy a house in Acton! Parts of it are nice. Not much around us by way of decent pubs etc, but the house is lovely.

    True, its a big place.

The bit my mate was in was 'full of poles and pods' (antipodeans) in his own words, and fried chicken places .... which he didnt quite like!

Theres quite a few train stations in the place so i guess its quite large aye.

West London is a rubbish place to get your first flat in London, everyone needs to go a session in the grime before you move to dullsville.

Plus I'm not sure what you are earning but the last thing you want to do is in London is to spend all your wages on rent. Hence why its often better to live in the grime until you're earning good money.
