I do try to support it, that's not an issue, but if it's not that good and there's somewhere better I could travel to, I'd rather go there instead. I only have so much free time and money to spend on clubbing so want to have the best possible time I can.

Yes, Promise is local and yes, it does have some decent nights on, but there are also some line-ups that don't appeal to me at all. I would just like to live somewhere with more variety. Hopefully, with Promise Hard starting up, this will be less of a problem, but compared to other cities, I think we don't have it that good up here club wise.

Quite a few people on this board are blinded by the notion of Promise being the be all and end all which, quite frankly, it's not.

    What have we got here?

    Trance and prog.

Do we have a decent D&B club? Decent Funky club? Decent Techno club? Decent HH club?

    Nope.

Was never intending to get into a slagging match and I don't think it is turning into one, rather a debate about clubbing in Newcastle. That's my aim in this anyway. :)

Do you feel that one trance and one prog club is enough variety for a city and catchment area of this size?

Are you saying that if you don't like trance/prog, you should be forced to either accept it and live with it or travel elsewhere, or rather that these needs should, in fact, be catered for?

Not having a go, just wondering what your thoughts are on this...
