I grew up in HK and Singapore, and got into dance music by going to ZOUK when I was 14 (ex-pats start young). At the time I didn't really have any concept of the different genre's of 'dance' music, but just knew I loved what I was hearing!

Mainly through my friends in high school and my brother [Brid]. We'd pass around the odd badly recorded cassette tape with various stuff on - Fantazia, Godspell, Mikey B, Bass Generator, Techno Trance, Rezerection, Rat Pack etc.

In terms of the clubbing aspect - I love it but it's peripheral to the music/tunes for me. I think this is why I might have started clubbing a bit more later on... Though when I think about it, I think my first clubbing experience was seeing Brandon Block play at Sugar Shack when I was about 17/18 [26 now] - so I guess, not that young.

Sat on my bedroom floor doing a food tech project when Barber's Adagio (Corsten remix) came on the shit local commercial radio station - I'd bought the occassional dance track without really being into it but this blew me away

Got my first Euphoria Comp ('Pure' i think), went to slinky, MOS @ the Dome, Ibiza (Oxford was shit so looking back I started with some big events!)

    Happy days....
