ive been, went when i was bout 15. is a lovely place, the beaches r gorgeous

when u go outside your resort tho is a shock to see how poor the ppl r :spangled:

nee bother, it sounds like a good plan of action....the markets in chiang mai are well cool and the fruit shakes you can buy are yummy!

you can buy flights from local shops so you won't have any probs getting down to th ebeaches when you're up there!

i know i cant wait man! id recommend it n i aint even been (the pics look unreal!)

i can imagine the ppl bein a bit poor like meks u appreciate what yav got tho

in cambodia they have pretty much nothing..they live off nothing and try to earn some money to feed themselves....its awful when you see themand to read about what they went through....

well me sis's best mate goes to gambia with her family every year like, the pics r total soberin

my aunt goes to ghana and kenya & gives money to the schools there so the kids can get pens/paper/books etc...

if you ever get th echance read a book about the khmer rouge regeim (sp) in cambodia...it's an eye opener that such atrocities happened and that these people are trying to recover from it....

they have nothing and no money either...getting jobs is hard for a lot of them as they are land mine victims...

i would like to do some charity work over there at some point!

do a search in the photo forums for my trip pics and look at them...theres some disturbing pictures of skulls and bones in there!

Thats where I wanted to go!! But we decided Koh Samui. Think Ill defo be doing some trips over there tho. If you go, take plenty of pics

As far as I can see it is quite easy to get to Ko Pha Ngan from Ko Samui, just a boat trip away, so I'm sure you will be able to at least visit.

When are you going? Looks like I'm going to have to postpone my trip until September/October due to work.

Going to Cyprus only one holiday this yr! As been doing the house up but next year got a few places in mind Australia........being one of them and New York! :groovy:

We are going September too!! September 17th. Yeah there are numerous boats daily to Koh Pha Ngan, so will defo (fingers crossed) be going! Theres a part in the North West that I wana see, Ko Ma or something Hope ya have a class time

If I end up going at the same time I'll give you a shout - would be weird meeting up for a beer in Thailand with someone from here!
