Looks class, the price isnt that bad considering the line up that is on. Some people paid 18quid to see Morillo last saturday, now that is a rip off!

All the one day tix for stuff like T in the Park/ V festival are more than this, so it's not too bad.

Sure the line up will get even better aswell.

Taken from my local, weekly newspaper.

Organisers dismiss ‘drug and vagabonds’ rock festival fears
    Published on 10/02/2006 (Hexham Courant)

    By WILL GREEN

LOCAL residents’ fears that an open-air music festival in Tynedale could lead to increased drink and drug crime have been dismissed by organisers.

The Angel Music Group confirmed last week that it was hoping to use a site on the Matfen Hall Estate near Wallhouses to hold a huge music festival at the end of May.

The announcement sparked fears in the local community that 30,000 “drug users and vagabonds” would descended on the area.

This week the event’s organisers acted to allay some of the concerns raised and assure residents that systems would be put in place to ensure the event ran smoothly.

A spokesman for the Angel Music Group said: “We are already in communication with a number of local villagers and are in fact meeting them on Monday night in person to discuss any concerns they may have face to face.

“This will be an event that offers a once in a lifetime opportunity to enjoy a combination of some of the world’s best live bands and DJs who have been brought together in such a spectacular setting.”

The organisers stressed that they are keen to work with the police in advocating responsible drinking at the event.

Northumbria Police are currently running a responsible drinking campaign called “Don’t spoil the party”, which would be endorsed and promoted at the event.

The spokesman continued: “A robust traffic management system will be put into place to reduce delay and lessen the impact of traffic on the local area and its residents.

“A shuttle bus system will take people to and from the site from Newcastle city centre.

“Private coaches and local taxi firms will be in use to enable people to enjoy the event without having to drive.

“A team of security and parking stewards will man the car park and site exits continuously in order to ensure everyone takes the appropriate routes home.

“A process for getting people on and off site will be agreed with police and local authority and publicised by the organisers well in advance of the event.”

    ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

So at least they've got a shuttle bus running 'cos it's well out in the sticks!

Aye. They're all like that. They live in the past far too much. Some of the comments I read from locals mate, you'd think that we were coming to burn the fucking village down and kill all the residents - not party and have a good laugh.

They had the meeting on Monday night with Council, Police etc.. but I've heard nowt since. Me bird said she'd heard it may not be going ahead. If it doesn't it's fucking typical of this area for organising big events. They aint got a clue.
