Nah they always seem to employ some atoms to cover the small print.

What are the terms though? I'll happily be disconnected if it means not having to stay with or pay them any more money. Surely there'll be something extra to pay because it's definitely not a punishment otherwise. 40GB allowance per month I mean come on. I've only managed it previously because that was the size of my hdd :dunce:

Their warning letter is a joke when you read it. It mentions that you can't go over your 40GB limit a month, but makes a point of saying "but this is enough for about 55 films, or x amount of MP3's". Closely followed by 'But you are not allowed to download pirated films/music'.

I'd love to know where you get those 55x700mb films from legally! Along with no uploading necessary, since the 40GB limit also includes uploaded data.

Not really.. A film is either 700mb or 1.4GB on average, and you always have to upload a canny bit before the download has finished. Then there's TV shows each week, music, viewing websites daily, streaming radio, a few online games here and there which constantly uses bandwidth.

I hardly ever watch TV because adverts piss me off and i'm never around to watch things at specific times so the internet works out best :funky:

Oh, and PC games are like 6GB+ each!

Cant beat Virgin Media/NTL for broadband, been with them for about 6 years at different addresses and different packages and not once have I been bollocked about download limits (which I think is a load of wank splat anyway)! I must have pulled about 80gigs of shit off utorrent since xmas so lets see if they send me any letters lol!

One thing though, Virgin/NTL are absolutely SHITE when it comes to TV. I've lost count how many times I wanted to bounce that cable box down my street

Orange did it to me, sent me 2 letters then cut my speed to half a meg to stop me downloading so much. Cancelled the subscription and went to UKonline 16 meg instead.

I think they would just cap your speed and if your still in contract youd have to pay up before being let out of it

Bastards. It said in the letter that in extreme cases a users subscription would be terminated.. but it didnt say whether or not you'd have to pay your remaining bills.

I reckon 400GB of beastality would suffice :bonkers:
