Olive Oil does the trick aswell, but you stink of it afterwards. Hope it gets sorted mate. I get water in my ears all the time. I need to get some ear plugs for going in the bath and going swimming like!

I've been deaf in my left ear all my life. Dead nerves. Just kinda adapted to it. When I used to DJ it was interesting. Can't imagine being able to hear out of both! Think it would be weird!

it's actually loud music that can cause things like tinnitus and wax buildup - maybe you should invest in some professional ear plugs - all the top jocks wear them...they cost about 100 quid but are well worth it - what price your hearing? is the question you should ask.....also, lots of DJs get hearing problems in the left ear (if they are right handed) from listening to and cueing up records at a loud volume....you can get your ears syringed by your doctor.

As a stop gap meaasure, buy some of those yellow foam earplugs from a chemist - couple of quid....better than nowt.

I always get bad ears. :(

If they're sore - don't take paracetamol, it inflames it more apparently.

Olive oil (slightly warmed but obviously not boiling as that'll cook your ears.. nice..) in the ears morning & night with cotton wool to stop it leaking back out.

Then get them syringed.. brilliant feeling!

Had mine syringed in June and was suddenly aware that the window was open and a train was going by.

I had to have mine syringed once about 4 or 5 years ago.

Id been at some night at the old WHQ, and the speakers in there were utter gash. The volume was higher than the speakers could handle, so any bass rattled like fuck and i could feel it really getting into me ear worse and worse with every beat. Eventually left about half an hour early when it started to hurt A LOT.

Thought it would calm down but it got worse and worse. Did not sleep one minute that night, just rolling round in pain.

Went to the docs, he said pretty much what Harry said on the last page, and syringed them. It felt horrible i thought. But my hearing was so clear afterwards, and the pain died off too.

Theyve been fine ever since really.

get DeciGuard foam earplugs - they have a NRR of 29 db, that means effective reduction of about 40 DB at high frequency, where the damage is likely to come from in a club. Good thing is, it mutes ambient noise in the same way too - you can hear the music over the crowd just as well, just as clear, and you still feel the bass the same way, so you still get the feeling of really loud bass.

Just my 2CP, but both the friends (trance_fan and someone from off the board) I have introduced them to, use them religiously now too.

    It's lush!

Though one ear hurt like hell last time I had it done 'cause I had a really bad infection at the same time.

Nice to see all the yucky wax floating in the dish thing though.:D
