    No they aren't bred as fighting dogs. They used to be, back in the day but people began to realise they aren't a violent breed compared with other 'fighting dogs'. They're just fat wrinkly fuckers that other dogs couldn't chomp into.

    A couple of months back I was walking home in a bit of a mess when I was walking along an alley and came head to head with a Staffy that was walking out at the intersect.

    We both just kind of stopped and froze, staring at each other for a few seconds then the dog slowly backed off and I walked on.

    Was a bit of a "what the fuck is going to happen next moment" for both of us I think, but the dog seemed to be lost (11 at night, pissing down with rain and wandering about by itself) and I don't think wanted to be pissed on more than it already had been.

    As I looked back walking off I could see it just staring at me as I walked on in the distance. If it didn't look like it could kick my arse and had have been a border colly I think I'd have took it in. :lol:

    Sounds like your dog needs some serious training. Generally dogs only behave badly if they are treated badly, or poorly trained.

    They are bred as fighting dogs.

    once its been bred in to their nature its in their instinct to bite. Not that i'm making excuses for mine.

    I've never heard of any of these flabby fuckers being bred as fighting dogs. Back in the day in the land of China, yeah but these days? Pah. A dogs nature/attitude isn't defined by something its ancestors were shit at years and years ago ;)

    You should be able to find a puppy/dog training class near you. It would be worth it, or it sounds like you run the risk of losing her.

    In the meantime you could get a book or two on basic dog training.
