    I bought it today, to find out this stupid thing of signing up to Steam and logging into it each time I want to play.

    WELL THANK YOU FUCKING DURHAM UNIVERSITY NETWORK WHICH BLOCKS THE STEAM APPLICATION OUT :evil: :strop: :fuming: :angry:

    where are u lor all up 2? im just past where you deck the helicopter properly in the hoverboat thingy... bit stuck now, tried jumping the boat over the wall but it's havin none of that :p

    Just on the hover boat. Funny thing is, this game is making me feel quite sick, I have to stop playing after about 20 mins.

    Never had it before, even off CS - Source.

    Doom 3 makes me dizzy after a while - then again, I do sit about 6 inches away from a 19" monitor whilst playing... :dunce:

    I REALLY wanna play this.. but I'm gonna wait for a few "legit" patches to fix and update the game and I wanna get a new gc so I can whack it up to 1600x1200 with aa and af on so i can play it as its supposed to be played..

    I've waited 6 years (or 7) for this.. I'm sure I can wait a few more months.. (hopefully a CE version will be out by then too ! :) )

    Yay its working now!! Currently just got off the hoverboat thingy at somewhere where big sirens went off and 2 massive dam-like door thingies closed.

    I am incredibly impressed by this game. I have already shat myself numerous times (eg. head-crab-scientist-zombie thing coming out of toxic waste, and even worse was the fecking trains at the start which go "TOOOOOT TOOOOOOT" then roar past you, nearly killing you!!)


    ...anywho...tis amazing!! :D

    i reckon im well far through it now... dont wanna give too much away but needless to say that big tower thing (the citadel or something?) comes into play... striders = run away:eek:

    Not had to battle a strider yet but I've seen a few walk past.

    This has to be one of the best games I've played in a couple of years.

    Errr...problem!!

    I managed to get connected to Steam through the Uni network and was playing HL2 last night. However this "getting through the network" thing is only going to work for a few days since it's through this guys server or something.

    Anyway...I don't need to go into detail about that! Now that HL2 is updated and all that I should be able to play it offline. However, when I start it up, I get an error message...

    "Unable to load filesystem_stdio.dll"

    :confused: Help! :cry:

    I've been well enjoying this game, I'm still in shock as to how real the people seem (they're eyes - scary! :eek: ). I'm dying to get home and waste another few hours of my life on this. :D
