and just to add to that drawl i spouted above - i heard that neuro is doing really well too, wonder what the capacity is for that place - and i wonder what its next to as well ;)

detox as well - at venue, and as people well know that's got a canny hardcore fanbase too, regardless of its scale. and we all indeed know that its going to be great, and it will be busy.

you just cant take the promise brand, slap it on a shite venue and expect it to work - sociological tendancies of cowied munters will just look for another DJ to dance towards.

because at the end of the day - we are all cowied munters in some shape or form.

*gets coat, shakes off rory comparison*

there was about 10 people in when I was there, and they only had enough jaegermeister for 1 jaegerbomb. Whats the point in putting a night on if you aren't gonna promote it and just hope it does well off its name?

Canny shocking night alround to be honest

Downey played a quality set tho - seems they were more interested in plugging the Judge Jules night than this one

No Jagermeister, lovely warm bottles of lager - great stuff :D

And the lasses toilets were a piss take - werent open upstairs so my lass had to go downstairs, then they closed so she had to go upstairs - i missed half the night trying to find the toilets for her

With all due respect JG was nothing in comparison to Promise in its hey day. It did very well with the bookings it had though around 2000 - 2002 Promise was easily one of the top 2 or 3 nights in the country, only bettered possibly by Gatecrasher IMO.

From 2003 - 2005 it was never as good as it was in the early days, once it went monthly the bookings became too predictable and the crowd slowly got worse. The only 2 monthly events that came close to how good it once was were the last ever event and the Hardwick 5hr night in 2004.

And Promise at the attic? Isnt even worth mentioning IMO.

oh i know that! i didnt bring the old promise into the whole arguement because it was MOS stating that JnrG did the same numbers as the attic supposedly did, which was an unfair comparison in my eyes.

my point still stands - it's the closed minded ness of people that they think they would turn their nose up at a night simply cause it's not what/where it used to be, rather than giving it a chance on the strength of the line up it puts on. 2 really good local jocks simon garrington and Luke terry plus a guest, for the same price as a packet of tabs is a winner in my book. Maybe if it was backed by a big night, trying something new in the area , people might have a different attitude and give it a chance, say it was called Gatecrasher North? ;)

However, from the sound of things the venue and the management there are really letting it down, not taking it seriously or getting behind it. they should be doing everything in their power to give the paying punters a good night and spread it's reputation

as for the numbers, i'm only going on what the DJs and promoters have said - so yes, it's hearsay - thats all i'm commenting on.

it's centrally located club, lots of floors, intimate rooms, i'd say on paper it's got GREAT potential.

you's were never those blokes who were at Jnr AGES ago on the danceffoor with tuxedo's on!?

and yes - on paper it looks good, and i suppose thats all your going on, but i rekon they'll have to do some serious thinking to get it back on its feet.

saying that, it's close to the bigg market and jules is on the next lineup, i'm steering clear :D

the problem is promise put downey on and myst put duguid on the same night, i honestly cudnt care about the name of the night, when i get the choice to see duguid (havnt seen before) or someone who iv seen a good few times (in newcastle alone) then its a no brainer imo. more origionation needed me thinks.
