didnt think "promise" would of held out so long to book jules. ;)

i mean when your pulling out trance line ups they have been and its busier at the local bus stop.

it was only time before they get the crowd pleaser on for the chavs and a quick and easy way 2 line there pockets.

its most probs because the promise ship has sailed and there trying to flog a dead horse in a shit venue etc etc and hoping "promise" as a brand will keep it a float.

where as the likes of junior g have the backing of goodgreef and an established name in the town for this period. and bar the break junior g has just had its a regular thing and there always looking to book bigger better djs etc

not wrong there at all like linzi, how on earth can they overshadow the original night at foundation?!

Shit Venue and location, but good DJ's. but having good DJ's on isnt the defining factor of a sucessful night at all. plus the fact it was bank holiday last week, and of course....

...the credit crunch and the State of the economy

so has this night been added to the 'Nu-Promise' nights immortal list of blunders?

its stupid i actually had someone asking me if i still go to "promise" as there reciving flyers lol i was like promise finished years ago so its sad that a few people out of area think
its still running as they were thinking of coming up for it.

lol @ the credit crunch im sure "promise" is a proble in its own right now without the credit crunch as something to fall back on as an excuse

personally it woudnt be missed if it wasnt on the attic can go back to housing the rnb massive

no, a few CHUMPS on here say that.

From what i've heard, they're getting similar numbers, around the 300-400 mark?

oh, i agree with you - Promise @ foundation will never be topped for us lucky ones who used to go 4 years ago now! however, there's lots of new, younger clubbers who like trance who MAY still go cause downey's on, they won't look and go "oh, there's that old trance night, it's not as good as it used to be people say cause it's not at that club that closed down" - that was my point.

no where near apparently, i've seen photo's of people on the dancefloor when downey's on and theres 7 people on it :monkey:

and i dont think a comparison to JnrG is totally respectable considering it was the best tech-trance night i've ever been to, which kept it going consistant for ages. sorry if i sound like i'm bumming it - but it was, and even still remains top drawer because it ended abruptly on a high point.

also, another reason why you cant compare it simply by numbers (indeed that is if attic took in more than 300 people via the appearance of 150-200 invisible clubbers) is that JG was at the ballrooms, which is a smaller venue, which meant you didnt have to pull in 400 odd 'almost' random people that think judge jules is god - on top of the hardcore fanbase that JnrG did indeed attract.

i think its a shame that downey didnt pull in that many people tbh, however i also thought it was a risk putting on this kind of night a week after armin 'the coin maker' van burren was on at digital, let alone the weekend after bank holiday. with a saturated clubbing scene and these *apparently* troubled financial times - i dont think i would of chose such a venue to cast such a night.

even in shields this weekend (even considering it was pay weekend for a large majority of the public) has been pretty grim for the last weekend of the month, a new all time low actually - on all bands of the market as well, which is also unusual.

saying that however - newcastle isnt really fully comparable with south shields, however certain trends within this daft credit crunch phenomena have indeed been felt already - and our head office for the company is starting to shite itself properly, especially since baha closed down.

Well - thats my two cent's at half five in the morning.

and to add MOS - i'm a 'younger' clubber and i used to go to promise @ foundation as well you know! ;)

saying that like i was taking a risk on the doors everytime i went - at the tender age of 16
