Exactly. Stop being so stereotypical people. If it encourages some people to get into clubbing, regardless of who they are or may be made out to be, where's the harm in that?

I went to both GKs and Cream at the Arena last year. Thought none of them were much good. At least Cream had decent length sets. Charvas everywhere. I havent got a problem with anyone coming clubbing just cos theyre wearing a shirt and Rockports or just cos they drink beer. Its just if they wander around in a menacing manner with an aggressive attitude, which there was tons of at these events. Dont get them in Promise really.

Geordie makes his return!!! AAHH we've missed his cutting comments!!!

I reckon that these events are gonna get bigger and bigger whether they hold them at the Telewest or Manc MEN Arena!! Personally I would prefer that if they were to be held they would be up here. Where else would youfind a top class lineup like these events bring!!!

Fair enough there are going to be charvers...I mean it is Newcastle and we do have our more than fair share!! Personally I go for me and dont really give a fuck what goes on around me apart form my mates!!

I really hopes it goes ahead although if the Police have anything to go by it wont!!! :(

    Footing the bill...

    It will probably go ahead.

Let’s not forget GK have to pay for every Police Officer in attendance, like all football clubs, large outdoor events and any festival with x-thousands of people. They, the Police, get their wages, paid by you, the tax payer, and then a generous overtime allowance paid by you, as part of the ticket fee; they have a set ratio per hundred head, decided by parliamentary legislation.

The council gets a nice fat fee for the license.

Telewest makes a packet with the merchandising, drinks, food, booking fees and ticket percentages.

GK makes its cash from the ticket sales and GK merchandising.

The, shall we call them, non-local coloured gentlemen who hail from Birmingham, seem to make a packet as well, selling goods that you cant buy over the counter.

So I think it will go ahead, because everyone loves cash, and its all about cash, politics and power, but not in any set order.

The last time I went, the sound system sounded like an old Anderson shelter with a 100watt speaker in it; the reflections from the back wall were a disgrace. Every DJ sounded as if he was double beating. Will they sort it? No, because most people aren’t aware of acoustics and how good sound should sound, so it will continue to be low quality and cheap.

    Lee!

Lee Foster, you know the score.

It's an opportunity which the council can't just let slip through their fingers so likely, it's all about the percentages and Godskitchen being there will generate alot of that in hard cash which will be distributed across the board making alot of people very happy and I'm sure it will swing their vote to keep the event ongoing.

If you don't like the event, then simply do not go, the bigger events cater for a more wider audience and it's in no way trying to imitate the atmopshere or feel of the club because you simply can not do that, if that's what you want, you want to go on a normal weekly friday night at code.

The bigger events give clubs the chance to make alittle money for a change, do you think they're raking it in on a weekly basis? ha! you're wrong, some nights they don't even break even!

Elle and co. have put alot of work into the event with alot of constriats, you have to work with what you're given. You can't always have your cake and eat it, there will always be people in the background like the council, the police and the venue management looking to put a dampener on things, and this is one of those things which they will overcome, Godskitchen have the experience and can honour any promises to keeping the event safe as surely is possible, they are professionals.

It will go ahead I'm sure and good luck to them and to anyone who is planning on venturing up there, have a good time

Not bothered either way now to be honest!

If it's on, I'll get the Telford mob and my g/f up for the weekend and do the Arena. If not, I'll jump on the train to Birmingham to see the Telford mob and my g/f, go to Gods on the Friday and Sundis on the Saturday!!!

Train is only £20 return, Gods is about a tenner, so too is Sundis! For about an extra £10 more than the price of the Arena ticket, I'll probably have a better weekend! :D

I went to both Gods @ Telewest last year, they were both quite good but been to better club based events. If it's on again, I'll go as it's something different but won't be too upset if it's not.:)
