then we walked past the line of dogs. these were defo not sniffer dogs other wise everyone coming out of the station would have been busted. l
ong story short the police are there to make an active show nothing more. i also go caught skinning up by the entrance by a copper. he just said" i dont think you should be doing that here, just wait till you get inside

im a dog handler at a prison in the midlands.

all sniffer dogs are trained at a proper training centre that includes police/ prison/ security firms etc.....

they are trained to search for different things, ie drugs / explosives etc...
different breeds of dogs are used for different things.

they can only work for 15 minutes at a time then need to rest for another 15.
if a dog picks you out then it will sit down by your feet.
at festivals its alot harder for them due to many reason.
ie alot of ppl being round them, they are only used to sniffing about 6 ppl at a time. there will be sents of drugs coming from all over the place do to wind or lots of ppl moving round them.

most of the time drugs dogs at festivals are used for scare tactics to try and make you but any thing youve got in the boxes they put at the start of the que.
the police will look at reactions when your near them and even if the dog doesnt sit they may still pull you

any with a distinctive smell I'd guess, so skunk, dope, coke, speed etc. Pills don't smell of much but a sniffer dog might think different. purely hypothetically if, say, someone wanted to take illegal substances past sniffer dogs and security into a festival probly the best way would be triple wrap in plastic bags, spray with perfume and stick em somewhere the sun don't shine
