I think its common uses outside of sundis are: medical, sexual stimulant, date rape and sports... It will never be a mainstream drug and making it illegal will make it harder for rapists to get hold of it.

i didnt even realise you could buy it in sex shops until i saw the news about being made illegal. i cant beleive it took this long

I'd say anything to try to prevent this being readily available is a great move and possibly the first decent thing labour has done ina long long time.
