    from a hegemony point of view i don't think you can... as sexual orientation does not effect the hegemonic group a person is in (male/female) one way of looking at this is the difference between homosexuals in soccer and womens soccer, they are not treated the same (male homosexual players receive more benefits/social standing than female players).

    this point is emphasized by the media too.

    but thats only from a sporting point of view cos thats all that i know really :D
