So now this post has become a reason to slate anyone who wants to be in the RAF as an aircraft technician...

Why do so many people here feel so smug about themselves in knowing that you may be more intelligent than other people that post. It's a forum on the internet where not everyone knows each other and most of you all, or have done in the past, fill your faces full of drugs every weekend. Definately some of the most intelligent people in the UK here aren't we. I don't think intelligence means a damn thing when you're posting messages on the internet.

it ISNT slating RAF technicians or anything like that - it's about whether sitting in an office is more dangerous than working on an RAF base.

I know that.. but it's kinda saying it's a shitty job and the only reason you get payed so much is because of the danger. Add Snack with her 'I'm so intelligent and you aren't which is why you're joining the RAF' comments and it seems like everyone is having a dig at Oasis for his choice of career.

what i said was technicians are alot better off than infantry safety wise.

theres only peter going in now, gowansy is at nottingham doing a degree and was never going in and im up here doing one

i can speak from experience - my dad was ground crew when he first joined the RAF and fixed ALL aircraft during world war 2 before he joined up as air crew.

i was going to go off on a rant there about the forces then and now... but i've changed my mind.

i'm sure some jobs in the armed forces are alright when you're far away from the battle fields or whatever.


However, IN MY OPINION lots of people end up the forces because they're not very bright and get mindwashed in schools by people saying "yeah yeah you'll earn laods of money, no you won't be in any danger". I've seen this happen first hand.

I shudder to think that we would ever place the security of our country in the hands of those mongs..

I think you're full of yourself tbh. There have been loads of times where i've seen you mention intelligence in your posts and I don't know what you fell like you're gaining from it. You can't judge someones intelligence over a message board though. Unless they're the violence threatening, ebonics type.

how? most trades in the forces rquire atleast grade C in englush maths and a science subject before you can even do the standard aptitute tests.

there are jobs which require no quals, like infantry, and police but the trades require qualifications before they will test you
