    how rubbish.

my favourite bit was about how much you can earn in the RAF... yeah that's true but I'd be a lot happier working for a similar wage in a few years' time where the chances of getting killed are minimal. armed forces = the only option for the "scholastically challenged"

how is a highly skilled trade in the raf for the scholastically challeneged? and youve probs got more chance dying in a car crash on the way to your office than you woukd have being killed in the RAF when your a technician

oh sorry i should have accurately defined what scholastically challenged means. I realise you aren't the most academically gifted. It basically means you're pretty much inept at studying, school work and learning. And people lacking these basic skills often end up in the forces; cannon fodder.

    geddit?

People in the forces are still subject to the same day to day dangers.

RAF is is wise choice with regards to safety but the point of being in the armed forces is that you are there to die before me, it's as simple as that.

If you think that it is as safe as being an average civi' you are kidding yourself, what do they think they pay you so much for?

But his point is, that someone on a base maintaining electronics will be in the shit more than us sitting at home watching the news.

What is your point? They are both in much more danger than me.

The first thing anyone tries to do in a modern war is destroy the opposition’s air capabilities. To do that they bomb the shite out of the air bases and carriers, basically the RAF support staff.

Sooner or later we will fight a power that has guided missiles, you'd not get be within 50 miles of an RAF base if that was the case.
