Po Na Na have been in some finalcial difficulty, they have had to resort to selling off their unprofitable clubs. Foundation is owned by DP leisure, which is a part of Po Na Na. Recently it had been questioned that Foundation may have been sold, but having read the business newspaper, it was confirmed that Foundation is safe! Thank fuck! :D:D:D

Just the thought of Foundation closing shows how much of a lack of quality clubs there are in Newcastle

Thats what I love about foundation - no matter what night of the week theres no fkin charvas.

The bit about corporate crap is spot on as well. I don't like baja - because every single time my mates have dragged me there, its the same every time. No variation in music. No events. Just the same crap dance routines featuring people dressed up as the village people/madonna/spice girls/ insert random artist here. They're in it just to earn cash on people getting mindlessly plastered out of their faces and trying to sing along to old songs and pop trash.

I can believe that the promoters at promise/shindig are making a killing, but rightly so! They have worked hard to create nights that stand out in your memory and make you want to come back. My idea of a good night is to go out, enjoy the music, the atmosphere, the people, the place. As long as there are places in newcastle like foundation and club nights like promise/shindig, there's somewhere for me to go out to. When all thats left is baja and ikon and blu bambu, I'm moving to another city :p

of course Promise (and Shindig & StoneLove) could find new homes if the worst happened, but Newcastle doesn't have a huge range of decent venues to choose from!

Where do you think would be bo good?

Simon, is Po Na Na closing or is that just rumour?

Foundation is a quality venue, where would we find another one like it in Newcastle?

By the sounds of it there is a real possibilty of Foundation closing. I can't actually see it happening myself though, but WTF do I know?

Of course that would be a quality line-up, it's what dreams are made of. A night in the same class as a Cream or GC in their peak. Somewhere people will travel to from all over the country and maybe beyond.

Keep us posted Mark, we are the main-stay

The Powerhouse is actually a class venue, Promise would suit it really, really well. I never thought of there, not too sure about Ikon though
