Never been to shindig or stonelove so I can't comment.

But the sound is far to bassy and it overpowers the rest of the mix It's hard to hear the mid's and the hi's sound really distorted and harsh however that probably the DJ going into the red on the mixer which they should be sacked for in my opinion.

Most nights sound bad to me at promise but I haven't been for a while as I said before, last time I went was tomcraft and that was the worst sound I've ever heard in a club.

I might even be inclined to say the system in foundation is to big for the size of room.

To be honest you saying which clubs sound good in newcastle there isn't really a club in newcastle that is of the same size and plays the same music, but I suppose if I had to say some then I would say the main room on the boat sounds good, IKON also sounds good not really been to any other clubs were I'd say the sound has blown me away.

I got a few questions for you.

Does the sound get mixed when the club is empty? (this maybe be the reason because people in a club absorb the higher frequencies and make the bass sound overpowering).

Where is the mixer for the sound in foundation?

Does the sound guy walk around the club after he's mix the sound to see if it sounds right?

    NO WAY WAS IT!

I was at both Sasha, and the Promise in question. Sasha night was MUCH hotter. It was in June, and a hot June day at that (we were all drinking outside Egypt Cottage at about 9-10pm). There were 2 inch deep puddles forming round the bottom of every pillar. Trust me, this Promise was nowhere near as hot. It was hot though.

Get yerself to sankey's in Manchester, thats proof that you can't have too big a sound system. It's a phazon rig originally designed for HOME in london, rigged up in a venue a quarter of the size and it's the only sound system I've heard that tops Foundation.

sankey's has the 2nd best system i've heard in a club...

the best was the boat last nyd before matt hardwick came on (and turned it up way to loud)...when adam sheridan was on it was deafening but crystal clear!immense

alex > andysoundandlightman does walk round to check the sound before the club opens, there is no mixer (i don't think), but a collection of amp's in a room behind the dj box which are continually checked during the night to make sure there is no peaking etc

Theres no mixers with eq's to mix the sound well I think theres the problem how do you expect to have a good sound without any equipment to make it sound good.

I reckon it's probably due to the fact that you defended your mate and it turned out not to be your mate who had said that in the first place, and now you feel a bit of a tit :p

no hard feelings of course! :D

whats the mixer for in the DJ booth for?

And it's FOUNDATION'S equipment, rather than Promise's. If you've not been to any other night at Foundation - how can u comment?

If you don't like the place - stop coming on here, moaning about how bad it was and plugging your 'DJ talents' and your productions.

I was at tomcraft 1) his style is bass heavy 2) he probably fucked on with the eq's on the desk.

I reckon Xanda has a point here - although its being lost in the quagmire of people who wont accept any failings on the club side, and Xandas camp reacting and trying to argue with insults instead of facts.

Come on, lets just admit the sound system in foundation is a bit bassy and the hi range suffers a bit because of it .... no?

Agreed, it's just when people say its shit, or the kit is wrong I have to laugh a bit. The sound is deffo setup for Dig's sound more than Promise's.

i too was arguing with his points - rather than just slating him because he said it was shite - i also agree it is bass heavy.

i don't like his "i know everything" attitude and arrogance when he clearly needs more experience b4 he starts laying down the law to whats right and wrong....

Yep - Its a pity so many people come on here and start laying into things before their post count even hits treble figures.
