I just reckon with some good eqin and some good compressors and crossovers to give more control over the sound it would sound fucking excellent.

that's not what i've been told, and i'm partially deaf in my right ear. wearing earplugs blocks out the hi's but still let's the bass rumble through, unless you use special ones, which i have er20s to use when im producing at loud volumes to test basses and stuff

I have noticed that the sound quality has been going down hill recently actually, I do agree that it is perhaps a bit too bassy at times but its a good sound.

If you wear earplugs, its MUCH better quality sound.

Was horribly distorted and clipping during Eddies set last week though, infact the last few times I have been they have been distoring.

The fact that Eddie wacked up the volume probably didnt help like.

And aye, the boat SS was class.

By the way...Hi's do more damage than Bass!

    Not the case.

Bass is below human hearing to 80 DB, whereas 80 DB at 3k Hz is enough to cause hearing damage after long enough.

At greater and greater SPLs the difference equals out somewhat, but treble is still more damaging to your ear than bass at the same DB level.

The frequency of sound causing hearing loss is not necessarily related to the frequency at which hearing is lost (typically in a small area called a notch, between 3-8 KHz.

Sorry to contradict again, but this is again not true.

At a given pressure level, a high frequency waveform has more energy per unit time than a low frequency one ( faster oscillation ). It will therefore cause oxidative changes in the hair cells, the cause of most NIHL, faster than sound of an equal SPL and lower frequency.

This effect diminishes into the high teens, being counteracted by the lack of sensitivity to these frequencies exhibited by the ear.

Seem to have two discussions going on here

To be fair the sound is usually decent, just need to sort out the clipping really.

Then again I always wear earplugs which sorts it :) (the quality that is, not the clipping)

when maw were on at easter they brought their own engineer apparently and he had a godd tinker with the sound system in the main room for most of the day b4 the night. It did make a huge difference the sound, when maw was on was awesome, all levels were nice and clear and really warm;)
