Go buy and return PC-Cillin

McAfee's alright but not perfect (it's like Norton and grinds installs etc to a crawl... :( ), AVG's good for a free virus scanner, and F-Secure is supposed to be good but never tried it.

Is there an alternative to sygate? I tried to install it on my computer and it screwed it properly. I lost my graphics drivers and couldnt reinstall them until I had got rid of sygate.

Also, everytime my computer had finished booting up it restarted :spangled:

Is there an alternative that isnt norton?

Not one mention of Zone Alarm?

Easy to use, stealths all ports, does the trick I find!

    And it's free!

Oh and just to point out, don't use the built in firewall in SP2.

Microsoft, in all their wisdom, failed to make the firewall block OUTGOING programs

I've never heard of Sygate doing that?! Sure you didn't have a virus/trojan that really wanted to be connected to the Net?

Zone Alarm - (Unless you buy the Pro version)

Tiny Personal Firewall - isn't too bad at all (poss the only thing from Tiny that works properly ;) )

    @ *Spinner*6*Sparki* - don't buy Norton!

Google for Trend Housecall - it's online and free.

Norton uses too much system resources and installs itself everywhere - it's like AOL. it's ok for nuggets and people who have never seen a PC b4.
