I have never heard fargie play a marco v tune and i have never heard marco v play anything other than marco v tunes
we talk to Laurents agent every other month hes a mare to book he was wicked when he played for us years ago.
ha ha i doubt we would book sven vath. remember over the years we have used alot of techno dj's carl cox and slam being the most regular. Timo maas recently we will leave the true techno bods to our friends at hooked to book though. its nice to mix things up a bit imo other wise its gets boring week in week out
fuck it, be the unexpected. book him. (but then it's not my money ) if his agent keeps getting in touch he obv wants/needs you more than you need/want him so say you'll book him at a reduced price due to the good promo he'd reccieve after playing somewhere like shindig personally, seen him play good, seen him play shit... but that was all when he was playing harder stuff...
i would rarther shit myself than listen to that shit getting mixed, badly at that. not to be a twat but constructive critacism is always helpful.
what about when lots of people said "get promise back to how it used to be, we'd love people like G&D" 13th Aug 04 - G&D + Tom Neville - a hand full went! people asked for katana, marco v - he did listen - just not to everything - including overkill with jules and lashes - and upsetting a loyal board following!
Personally I think Fergie is more of a back room booking for Shindig. Small, initimate, dark. I'd still rather see the likes of Garnier, Vath, Loco Dice, Luciano, Tanya Vulcano, Cirillo, Clive Henry* take over Room 2 for a night during the summer though *Although I don't know if others would share my views enough to warrant those bookings
He hasnt reinvented himself at all, he is just playing what is trendy right now Why would you want someone to play who djs in that veign because they are blatantly just going to be playing textbook stuff get Udberg playing again instead of wasting your time on Fergie, i bet more people would come and see him than the oirish fella
come back in 2 months time and i guarantee you you will be bumming it once youve got bored with naff electro house
Depends on what you call trendy. Its always had a good following which seems to be getting bigger at the moment as techno covers a lot of styles of dance music. Its not hairdressers music but it attracts a varied crowd of poeple.
