I seen him at nation play in the techno room and he was fantastic, same when i seen him play promise the first time, but then i seen him at global in the trance tent where tbh he couldn't do anything but anthem bash with the slot given. Not sure how he'd go down at the dig, either way if the regulars didn't go there would still be loads of ex promise punters who would show. :)

he played the best set i've ever seen at the end, god knows how anyone could keep a set flowing and a full crowd for 7 hours, they even left the club open an extra hour he was that good. :D

Most the people one here are judging him from sets played around 2004. Most of the times i've heard him play were around then.

I've seen him good twice and bad once, but I'd advise you hear a recent mix by him recorded live to pass judgement.

I was about to say 'not necessarily a booking i'd expect at Shindig' but if he's playing Tech House etc now then maybe he is re-invneting himself a little?

After all he used to play hard house years ago.

I'll see if I can get a 2006 mix and i'll drop you an email.

I'd definately go to see him if he played, i personally think he gets more stick because of his backround and the fact he's always put on the wrong bill and booked for trance events still, he'd definately be able to hold his own at a house/techno night imo. :)

Also, his radio 1 shows never used to be anything to go by, he wasn't playing to a club on air.

He was shite at the last arena event. Loads of ten minute breakdowns with ear bleeding FX noises then a proper lifeless loop would drone on for a few minutes.

I whitey'd about four times in a row during his set and that's usually a good indicator of how shit the techy nonsense was for me.

He was good at promise though.

He gets stick because he is shit.

A bandwagon jumper would get very little interest from real techno heads imo.

Put on some one with a bit more class like underground resistance or Michael mayer.

when was the last time you seen fergie play? i've seen him play cracking sets before. How can you say he's a bandwagon jumper, he played hard house for years then moved on to techno, how much has your playing style changed over the years, dj's get sick of one style of music so move on. :)

yeah, i agree his arena sets are poor, but he hasn't dissapointed me yet in an actual club.

and this bit doesn't really matter, because he played promise twice and both times it was busy, so maybe you wouldn't get techno purists, but there will probably be a decent crowd.

techno scares me, its horrible, surely its not right for shindig, however i'm sure he could pull a crowd so you would probs make money off it.

    A crowd of who though?

The shindig regulars won't go because it's not house.

The hard dance lot won't go because it's shindig.

Techno fans won't go because fergie isn't as credible as a real techno DJ.

This leaves the old promise lot, most of whom like house/prog/trance and 'proper' techno - I certainly wouldn't go to see him.

Couldn't see it being anywhere near full - I can't imagine there's a thousand 'plastic techno' fans prepared to make the trip

Ive always thought he was good but at global last year Ive never ever seen so many people leave one tent in my life. He got a really bad reputation after that and Ive only heard bad things...I didn't realise hes apparently got better recently!
