hmmm ok I'll take back the word "white" and replace it with "racial", result is the same... mistrust, paranoia, intolerance, hatred, cutting off of heads.

I'm proud to be jewish- it doesn't mean I'm going to chop off the head of a christian...

I think such far left logic strengthens organisations like the BNP, you can't be proud to be british without being labelled a racist - the border of racism and national pride becomes blurry resulting in white supremacy being far more accessable to your average joe.

They can justify that they're not voting for racists, they're just proud to be british

to me being "English" means nothing more than I was born on the same bit of rock as about 56 million (56 ) other people, nothing more and nothing less. It's artificial and arbitrary and about as important in defining me as the colour of my hair. I have never understood how some people can assume great deeds performed by other people who were born on the same bit of rock and somehow take credit for them. The victorians did some amazing things but unless it was actually my great great grandad how can I claim that as mine??? Likewise they did plenty of shit round the world and that's not my fault either.

I just do not understand anyone who takes the particular patch of the earth they or their parents were born on as the most important thing that defines them. Go back a thousand years or so and there wasn't even an England, there was 5 or 7 or whatever seperate kingdoms and no doubt they all thought they were better than the others and routinely killed each other to prove it.

The problem with national and ethnic pride is that it doesn't just stop at wanting to win the test match, it ends up with Hutu killing Tutsis, serbs killing muslims killing croatians, nazis killing jews......... same goes for anything that highlights differences between one group of people and another, we'd be better off with less of it instead of more of it.

But there are differences!

English culture is very different to russian culture, why can't we be proud of our culture like we would of anything we belong too?

I am proud of my families achievements
I am proud of my friends achievements
I am proud of my companies achievements

You are part of british culture, you act british, look british, sound british, live on british affluence... It is britain that has given you the prosperous lifestyle you lead.... You should be proud of its achievements as like it or not it is part of you. (At the sametime you should also be ashamed of it)

But you can't just ignore it as britain shapes your life.

if only we could all be like you spence and have excellent non-violent, non-racist role models as our Av's!!
